Take an iconic led zeppelin song with a signature riff change it all around and usually it would spell disaster, I know this because I’ve been disappointed many times when watching a live performance that doesn’t live up to the original or studio version, but in this case for some strange reason this version works for me.

Does it work for anyone else?

I love it when someone switches the total feel of a song, & still makes it work. It's amazing how slight the changes really are, though...

Yeah that was what struck me as well, a slight change a different feel and yet the identity of the song is still there.

I think another example of this would be Lenny Kravitz take on the song American Woman. I didnt like it at first but over time I ve grown to like it more than the original version.

Oh yeah that's another good example on how a song can change without losing its original appeal.

That's like that song "The First Cut Is The Deepest." Few ppl in this country know that that was a Cat Stevens song, before it was rehashed by Rod Stewart & then Cheryl Crow.

Did any of you catch Robert do the bliuegrass version with Allison Krauss on Crossroads ? Sorry I'm too stupid to paste a link. I think this was a lot closer to the original version . I record and watch crossroads all the time, and love to watch the way different groups put their stuff together.

And its another day in Paradise !!!!
