Emergency call from a friend , need some one licensed to drive a bomb down the highway.

I love these shows ,no money to speak of , but a whole lot of fun and hard work to go set off some fire crackers you can't get your hands on legally.

Local show still long day , [about 20 hours, and set up work most people wouldn't understand.]

But when the sparks start flying and your launching 8 inch mortars one after another you start to enjoy the true meaning of life. AMERICAN LIFE.

F U and dont you dare try to take mine a way!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Took Jace to see a small show of about 20 minutes in length. We were just far enough away that he really enjoyed it. He kept making the sign for 'flower.' I thought it was cool that he interpreted it as 'flowers in the sky.'

Glen - hope you had a great gig, & left it with all your digits intact.

The display in Harrisville where I went for the Fourth lasted almost an hour, awesome. And then the Milky Way came out, the real fireworks.

I went to three deals this year.

A local town did one last week with the Navy Band Playing, was a really good 15 minute show

The lake I go to on the weekends, one of the condo units does one every year with musical entertainment. Lasted 19 minutes my daughter said.

then on the 4th, the state did one on the dam at the lake. I watched it from a far distance was another huge display

I love fireworks!

Me too.
At Lake Palestine after and some during our show there were a lot of fireworks. Not just the show sponsored by the Church we were playing for but the whole lake shore seemed rimmed with fire.
Was a beautiful day and fireworks.

Hope everyone had a great and Safe weekend. I had fun but I also learned how much the Govt is tightening the rules. DOT UNDER THE RULES OF HAZMAT will not allow transportation of 16 inch shells any more,[ those are the real fun ones and have to be fired by wire]. Local fire marshalls are so filled with their own self importance that they would rather shut a show down for the most minor of infractions.
And most of all it is show biz and it just reminds me of how hard you folks work to go out and set up your bands ,the practice, the equipment, and the talent.
If no one appreciates the hard work to play a few sets, I DO,and as Chippy woud say KUDOS to all! :)

Which makes me grimace a little.
Saturday we had just about every yard near me having firework shows, plus the major ones as Cap'n said it was like Vietnam around here. That night someone near me died in a house fire, just 4 houses from the firehouse earlier on that day.

It does make you wonder.

Fireworks? When we lived in Miami, it was gunfire.

It was extremely dangerous to be outside on the 4th at night. Shoot 'em if you got 'em.

Hell we've been known to bust some caps for the 4th or new years too.

Used to make some awesome booms with ox acetylene balloons in years gone by.

Everyone is so paranoid about " IED " these days.

Bunch of pansy asses.
