Speaking of drive, I believe a lot of younger musicians see the instant gratification phase this country is in, with the reality shows and American Idol providing instant stardom. People used to understand that in order to "make it", you had to pay your dues, travel a lot and build your fan base at every stop. Working your tail off (literally starving) was a must. I think that is still the case, but not the perception anymore.
Too many are relying on the Internet, Myspace and reality shows to get them there and that just does not happen to often. Gotta have the work ethic to be a success.
