Best G.A.S acquisition.........A few years ago I rented a VOX Valvetronix VTX150, and absolutely fell in love with it. Tube pre, huge effects section, and excellent modelling for every notable amp produced since 1950. This amp is portable, yet will cut through in any stage situation..........The downside was that I wasn't prepared to pay $1,600 for it, (the going retail price). Lo and behold, a couple of years later I'm in a Guitar Center during their August blowout sale and they have one new, in the box, that they want to get off the shelf for $800, and the salesman ended up knocking it down to $399. Needless to say I scooped it.....they had a second one, but I didn;t have another $399, (Damn!)
