I've been saying that once I got my guitarist off his bum to get me the cuts we have ready I'd post em, so their uploaded now, on my Bmix page. check it out and give me some feedback..

forgive the slightly sloppy drumming, reason #5261 we're happier with our new drummer, and we're planning on re-recording these tracks now that we have someone capable of playing with a click track...lol

Tronix this may sound strange. This is not my type of music, but at the same time I can relate to the playing . The drums are weak but at least the intent is there. What kills this for me is the vocal track. It just comes across as angry shouting that just acts as a distraction to some pretty good playing.
As I was listening to your trax I was wishing I could just hear the guit and bass as I could hear some good changes and builds. Then the screams just kill it.
Like I said this is not my type of [vocals] music. Thank you for sharing.

Nice job Tron. Yeah the drums are not tight and the vocalist is so-so but the music is really good, lots of Sabbath type riffs and changes which I like. Pretty average stylistically for metal; nearly every metal band these days has those type of vocals. I'd like to hear it with your new drummer and a better singer. Rock on!

This takes me back to the mid 80's Thrash era. :D

The drummer needs to tighten up, as well as the guitarist. I really like the guitarist's tone though.

The vocalist isn't bad at all. I would have liked to have heard more higher notes from him.

Your bass could be a tad higher in the mix, but from what I heard in certain areas, it sounded pretty killer.

Thanks guys, alittle BG info..the lead singer had never sung a note, period, ever not even with Karaoke, and honestly had never considered it, but I used to work with him, and we'd be singing along with the classic rock station, making up our own funny lyrics to the stuff they play 13 times a day, and I suggested we get together and jam some blues and easier stuff, and thats how he got started, all told he's only been singing for 2 years, and honestly for all of his hard work and effort he cant hold a note in a bucket, which is why he's taken to screaming, he's actually much better at that. That said, we already have songs in the pipeline, where I am going to add, a more melodic voice to our sound, I'm not great, but light years better pitch control than him, But he works his ass off, and earns his keep, so to say. lol

One of the guitarist is very solid, and has a nice solid sound and tone, the other guitarist though is also a rookie, but with a solid natural sense of rhythm and timing, and to be fair we recorded those months ago, and he's noticeably tighter now than when we recorded those.

My bass tone has since improved as well, because I now use a much better guitar and cab, and frankly it sounds like butter compared to what it sounded like when we recorded it.

and last but not least the sloppy drumming is a thing of the past, because our new drummer, has been a pro-level drummer for years, and in three weeks of rehearsals, I haven't heard him drop a beat yet, through 4-5 hour practices.

The end all be all of this, is that we will in fact re-record these tracks when we have a full albums worth of material, and they will be slightly, faster, slightly heavier, in a good way, and slightly more melodic, as I learn to take a share of the vox, while still trying to play a solid bass line.

for the record, I agree, my bass track is a bit low, which sucks, because I nail my little "solos" perfectly..lol

thanks again for all the solid input. :D

Many would think that a negative thing, and it would be if thats what we was going for, but it's not it's just the musical influences eeking out, so in that context, its a high honor to be compared to their sound to me. I don't need to re-write the rules of music, or find the one melody and usage that has never been attempted before, to feel accomplished, I get that from the "kid in a candy store" feeling I get while we're playing...
thank you for taking the time to check it out Capt. :)

Dude, who said anything negative?

Just because I don't play that stuff does it mean it's no good?

F*** NO, JR. Wake up and smell the Coffee.. Just how do you think I know about South of Heaven>? (law of entropy)(law of diminishing returns) lol

Everyone does something a little different and if you do it well, people will hate you just for that. (ssdd)

Do what you do and enjoy yourself..F*** the world..they know jack and sh*t and jack just left town.

that sounded like you though it a bad thing..my bad.

I don't worry about what people think of our music, to be honest, after hearing some of the thoughts around here about our "style" of music I was apprehensive, because I've read enough to know enough to respect the opinions here, but I also know I'm putting myself out there to be judges by educated ears. In the past when a band has screaming in it, or sounded too close to the commercial metal acts, they have been picked apart, and proclaimed "nothing special", As I said, if thats the opinion of our music, I'm cool with that, but when you "Uhgg"'ed the mention of Maiden and Slayer I thought you was implying "oh no, not another one" type sentiment.
If I was incorrect, I apologize..lol

Not bad. It would GREATLY improve by EVERYONE nailing the timing. I hear most of the band going off, at different times... sometimes the drummer, other times the singer, etc... You've just got to tighten this up, and it would make a BIG difference. You know you're going to get helpful criticism on these boards, with all the veterans here... but if you ever get some punk kids say stupid sh*t... just remember... "You guys are playing out, and they probably aren't!" LOL :D

I think you guys just need to work on timing and keep at it, and you are on the right path. Look forward to hearing your progress brother! I miss playing out! ENJOY IT, MY FRIEND!!! :-)

Thank you sincerely, I do appreciate all comment,s and I even welcome negative criticism, I'm an artist, been to art school, lol, you have to take LOADS of it there, so I wont take anything personally. lol Our timing has improved 100% with our new drummer, he's a significant improvement, in rehearsal we sound much tighter than we do on the recordings, so I have no doubt, when we re-cut those songs, you'll notice a drastic difference between now and then.
So far we've been compared to, Danzig, Classic Pantera, Iron Maiden, Slayer (tyvm:) ) and even Sabbath.. All of which are definitely on my influences list, so I'm definitely happy with what we're doing, we have a show on July 31st, so expect some video footage from that.
:D
