Thanks guys, alittle BG info..the lead singer had never sung a note, period, ever not even with Karaoke, and honestly had never considered it, but I used to work with him, and we'd be singing along with the classic rock station, making up our own funny lyrics to the stuff they play 13 times a day, and I suggested we get together and jam some blues and easier stuff, and thats how he got started, all told he's only been singing for 2 years, and honestly for all of his hard work and effort he cant hold a note in a bucket, which is why he's taken to screaming, he's actually much better at that. That said, we already have songs in the pipeline, where I am going to add, a more melodic voice to our sound, I'm not great, but light years better pitch control than him, But he works his ass off, and earns his keep, so to say. lol
One of the guitarist is very solid, and has a nice solid sound and tone, the other guitarist though is also a rookie, but with a solid natural sense of rhythm and timing, and to be fair we recorded those months ago, and he's noticeably tighter now than when we recorded those.
My bass tone has since improved as well, because I now use a much better guitar and cab, and frankly it sounds like butter compared to what it sounded like when we recorded it.
and last but not least the sloppy drumming is a thing of the past, because our new drummer, has been a pro-level drummer for years, and in three weeks of rehearsals, I haven't heard him drop a beat yet, through 4-5 hour practices.
The end all be all of this, is that we will in fact re-record these tracks when we have a full albums worth of material, and they will be slightly, faster, slightly heavier, in a good way, and slightly more melodic, as I learn to take a share of the vox, while still trying to play a solid bass line.
for the record, I agree, my bass track is a bit low, which sucks, because I nail my little "solos" perfectly..lol
thanks again for all the solid input.
