everyone has opinion, & maybe I'm too old to have one for this genre..
but here goes anyway:

1) leave behind the pop industry-driven voice growls & things and revert to your natural voice's sound.

2) Don't sell yerself out

I agree with celticpiping, you have a nice clean natural voice. Have you had any voice lessons?

The first one I heard was the vocal. In It I heard that you have great control, a great PURE/NATURAL quality to the tone of your vocal, but PERHAPS (it's hard to say from one little clip) a lack of Power/makeing the breath/integrity of the note ring out.

However I have to dissagree with the pop ditching! I can totally hear a full rock band slaming out the tune you had, with the guitar in it.

Something that rocks and has a cute pop girl with a great voice,,, it's not origional, but it sells.... IT doesn't mean SELL OUT, or get trashy,,, in the end that's your choice. but I say GO FOR IT!!! You are a producers dream if you're as moldable as it seems.

P.S.
Please do the same for my lyrics posted on the forum in this category
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, for a song I wrote called NUMB, also check out my music if you like! Thanks.

"Something that rocks and has a cute pop girl with a great voice,"

we all have our opinions fer sure & they're all welcome.
But, the above it exactly what I would NOT wish for.

I would rather see her take what God's given her, and not be molded into what she's not..naturally.

I'm done.

thanks for all your criticism, everyone.
it's all much appreciated.
&& no, i've never had voice lessons before.
the whole singing thing's kind of new for me

yeah, that's because a band really does slam out that tune. it's only a cover. hah. sorry for the confusion.

and i agree, that it is really poppish, but since the singing
thing's still new for me, i'm still finding my style and my genre.
maybe i'll do another cover from a different genre soon =)

CelticPIPING
FIRST,,, OH MY GOSH!!! YOUR MUSIC IS SOOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL AND SOOOTHING!!! DUDE!!!

We may have a disagreance here, but NOT on your music! Dude,,,I feel like I should THANK YOU, listening to this tune (STILL PLAYING) is just calming me down,,, AND I GOT A SPEEDING TICKET TODAY!!!

THANK YOU!!!

As for this lovely girl. Who knows, I don't like pop all that much,,, let's be honest, I pretty much gag on it. BUT all taste aside, it's a good career choice as for sellability. I'd never do it because it's not my style, even if it sold. And who's to say that it's NOT what GOD wants her to do with her vioce. Look at Miriah Carrey,,, the way she exposes her body and uses her sexuality (like MOST sexy pop singers) is NOT God's will (if you believe the Bible) but IT IS CLEAR that GOD gave her a beautiful voice and that she was MEANT TO SING!!!

As For our lovely novice, I didn't mean it to have her sell out,,, I simply gathered from the tracks she put up, that Pop was not an INSULT to her as it might be to us. And as for "God's" use of pop, look at superchick, barlowgirl,,, stuff like that. I CAN'T STAND THE MUSIC, but it's possitve and scriptural.

So peace to all.
Isabee,
YOU ROCK, KEEP PLODDING AWAY
Celt,,
YOUR MUSIC IS GOD BREATHED AND POWERFUL!!!! It MOVED MY SOUL AND MY BLOOD!!!
Thank you, for real!

God Bless.

The singing is off pitch. Not off pitch in a good way (re Brendan Perry) but in a bad way. I would suggest a vocal coach.

Damn ... it so sucks that all you people are so scattered in different parts of the world here ... I am hearing some very interesting talents ... and it would be even more interesting if some of you ended up on the same stage.

Not going to happen I know .... but damn lol.

Well, thanks my virtual friend.
Though, I must give credit where it's due.
My wife actually wrote the thing.
I set it to pipes.
I should redo that one, now that I have a little more pitch control over the
"Irish octopus".

Cheers lads,
Rich

First, please understand that I can't stand pop. I've heard nothing but drivel on the radio for years, "Pressure Cover" sounds like more of the same. That's not you but the song...

I agree with some of the above, you need some vocal coaching. You have a good voice, but your pitch control needs work. It also seems to have no power. Singing is basically a controlled scream. When I'm doing vocals onstage I get red-faced and the veins in my neck pop out, my stomach is tight as the snare drum's head. I'm usually the loudest singer in the band.

You sound weak, like someone singing/humming along with the radio in a half voice. I think you have real potential if you learn to use your full voice and hit every note on pitch. Get some vocal coaching and don't even think about trying to sound like your favorite top 40 singers, try to sound like YOU...Also, try putting your finger in your ear when you sing, that will help you hear the pitch of your voice better. You have a very good voice, learn to use it.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, you said be honest, I am.
