I just listened to a piece of Golden Eagle and the vocals sound like Les Claypool.

Col. Claypool and the frog brigade never uttered a bad note, just different than what you expect to hear.
You might want to take note of that when you critique your own material.
(we tend to be harder on ourselves, but when you are satisfied one tends to be more safe in this respect)
