I just love Cindy Lauper!

Reuters - Best known for her '80s-era pop hits, Cyndi Lauper veers off in a new direction with "Memphis Blues."

Back then, I thought she was better than Maddona. See how important marketing is?

Why would anyone laugh? She's awesome. She's coming to the Motor City Casino on July 1, the first day of my vacation. If you like CL you would love her DVD, it's her live in NY. She tells all of these great stories before each song, so cool.

I also loved the Hooters' rendition of "Time After Time."

I thought they were a very under-rated band, thought their second album went double platinum.

Cindy is unique.

Sometimes that and some big money are all it takes, when money alone doesn't do the job. I have never changed a channel on one of her performances. That's more than I can say for the majority of "performers" out there.

For the record, it's Cyndi. I watched her DVD "Live...At Last" last night, man what a voice. The 80's were the best.

Wasn't she, like, in her 40's in the 80's?

She has a 5 octave range. She plays a multitude of instruments. She does boundary breaking arrangements of her own classics using bizarre instrument combinations LIVE. She is a well rounded, genre bending, hipster. Major credibility in my book. Funny, I just put a bunch of her stuff on my ipod last week.

This song rocks out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulvSS3nAK1I
And Mary, I've been drooling over the Tuck and Patti version of "time after time" since the early 90's. I recorded my own rock version in the early 90's.
