 anyone know if active pickups will sound good in my ltd ec-50 im thinking emg 81/60 cuz the ltd is a dark sounding guitar so im thinking 81/60 cuz of the ceramic magnets!!! they say ceramic magnets are bright sounding so a dark guitar balanced with bright pups with enough power to crunch and solo!! is that even worth my time or does some one have a better idea!!! i play rock and metal i use pinched harmonics and a metal distortion pedal but on occasion i do have to play cleans for the wifey she likes some country and mellow rock!!!! any pickup ideas all opinions welcome!!!! thanks!!!!!!

Yes they would. As an alternative though, check out Seymour Duncan Invaders. I know a few people who play metal that swear by them. EMG's are nice, but the fact that you have to change the battery in them sucks. I'd feel like I was playing a robot

I have a Jackson Soloist with active EMGs, it is the s/s/h configuration. I absolutely love this guitar. I split the bridge EMG and when you dial down the mid control with the coil split you get a wonderful strat sound. With the bridge in normal mode and clean amp settings you get crystal clear warn tone. With the mid all the way up you can metal your ass off all night. It is the hottest pups of any of my guitars.
