I am right there with you Phil and my post was in no way intended to make light of your situation. Or to say that people should not make complaints when warranted. But some people ( family members especially ) like to make a big deal out of trivial sh*t. They don't understand or perhaps are so selfish they don't care that if they waste my precious time that
NOBODY gets good care.
OK I understand you mother thinks she is is constipated despite having three BM's today alone. And I will deal with it, but the man in the next room will die if I don't do something
now so stop following me around and STFU!!
I had another really crappy day today despite only having 5 patients to care for. I spent much time helping one of my co workers manage his bunch. Silly stuff like confused patient breaking their IV lines and bleeding all over the place. But my employer will NOT provide sitters for those whom need one on one ( unless your a VIP ).
On the bright side.
One of my patients whom I sent home today. When I walked into her room this morning jumped up and gave me a big hug and said "thank you so much".
I thought I was going to cry right there in front of her.
