Sean thats a good example You play ponticello [near the bridge] and then you play saltasto [near the neck] and there is no difference in tone.AMAZING.
On electric guitar this can be extreme.AMAZING.

Now stop trying to convince COLORS or any of these other GREAT musicians and just post some of your own ,real , music. I bet it's really good.

Sean, at this point you've nothing to prove from a technical standpoint. It's the emotion of your listener that you have to learn how to elevate. All the technical wizardry in the world means nothing unless you get your audience to feel the emotions you want them to feel. The real power in music has nothing to do with volume or how fast or how complicated you can play. The real key is what does your music TELL people...

I agree with Bob. You've got 5 or 6 vids up on here right now, and although I've checked them out, I haven't managed to make it even half way through ANY of them. Bored to death.

You know your instrument-I've even said that before. That being said, I've NEVER heard anything from you that inspired me, or, for that matter, made me want top listen to it again. You are fast, technical, knowledgeable...and demonstrate NO ability towards actual composition or soulfulness. It's not even you're ideas, just regurgitated from Satriani, Vai, etc. Who cares?

BTW, something else I mentioned before to you as well: Turn up your rythym tracks...maybe your work will carry more weight if it doesn't sound like you are jamming with a radio that is two rooms away...

Sean,

Emotion. Emote. Play something interesting to listen to.

You could actually learn something from a couple of good disposable pop artists.

Like at least one other person here, I haven't managed to get even halfway through any of your videos.

It has been said that those who can play play, those who can't teach.

When someone compliments your skills, but constantly disses your taste in composition, perhaps there would be more opportunity and rewards in the latter.

Now that can be applicable to everyone on the Internet or not.

Hahahahahaha!!! You're my bro, Krul, but...shreddin' has nothing to do with two-hand tapping at all. It's about the ability to pick every single note from legato to full on speed like Yngwie, Batio, Moore, ect. Eddie was not and will never will be a shredder. Just ask any of the above mentioned players what they think. Most of us laugh at guys that use two-hand tapping as a crutch. I had my son doing that when he was 4  . Not impressed. Once again...I'm not dissin' Sean, just stating facts.

And once again...no substance, rhythm, or anything that could even constitute to one part of a complete song. This is why I feel bad for the dude. He puts himself out there so many times looking like a wanker, yet doesn't understand why...Hopefully he'll get it soon or he'll end up just like every other bedroom/basement wanker that thinks that they can play...yet never fit into a band because they have no idea how to actually write complete songs. Just sayin'...

Guys, all I do is write music, I refuse to post on here for copyright reasons. I have sold several songs and been successful in copyright lawsuits. So, I just solo, it’s that simple and by not posting my songs means I place composition at a much higher level that just soloing.

Ask questions before you talk.

Sean plays guitar. Sean makes videos. Period. So why all the dissing what he does when he obviously is happy doing what he does? If he wasn't happy doing it he would do what you want him to do. How many of you do what other people want you to do? If someone should tell you not to give up your day job do you listen to them? If someone said you need to learn to play this way, would you listen if you are satisfied with the direction you are going musically?

He posts vids. Does anyone find that offensive? Why? If he has a big head, what is that to you? A musician is subject to his personal tastes. If they are not up to your standards, big F^&%*n deal. Don't listen to him. Simple as that.

As a side note, do you realize that most criticism comes out of jealousy? Is that what you want? To appear to be jealous?

That is what it is beginning to look like with all these Sean bashing threads.

I meet pickers all the time that are full of themselves. They can't play scales, tap, compose, write lyrics. or anything else. We ignore them. At least Sean has accomplished a knowledge of his instrument, according to most of your comments.

Come to think of it, don't we all have visions of grandeur once in a while?

Dude.... come back to reality.

I don't care if Sean is happy doing what he's doing. Great! Good for him!

What I was complaining about originally was that he was posting the SAME SH*T OVER AND OVER.

Does that compute for you?

I don't care of Sean wants to post a video one time on these boards. Great, we have a look, we voice our opinions, we move on.

But he has posted that same video like FOUR times already!

ENOUGH!

Put the f*cking video on your profile and MOVE ALONG.

That was my original complaint. That's all. If you can't figure out why repeated postings of the SAME VIDEO aggravate me, then I can't help you further.

As for the jealousy comment: f*ck yeah. I'd love to be able to play like Sean. But if I could, I wouldn't waste the time he does with these completely tasteless solos.

I know - and have said this on this board before - I know exactly where I stand as a guitar player. I am not a shredder, I am not a guitar God. I worship at the alter of guys like Petrucci and Gilbert. They are awesome and I wish I had their chops.

My gripe with Sean's playing is that he has all this talent and he doesn't DO ANYTHING WITH IT.

He reminds me of my sister when she was younger. Bright girl, wanted to be a marine biologist and travel the world. She quit school instead. Wasted talent down the drain. She's happy with her life though, and I'm happy for her, but I always wonder what would have happened if she would have pursued that dream with zeal.

Sean has loads of talent; he's smooth when he plays (even if his body language and facial expressions make it look like he's masturbating when he plays). But I haven't seen anything from him to suggest that he knows how to actually harness that talent.

Now he's saying in another thread that he writes and sells songs. So be it. If it's copy written, put it up!

I think he's just a kid with a big ego that he needs to stroke. He needs validation from the community.

Underneath it all, I think he's probably a pretty good guy. He's just insecure.

lol Colors, be nice before someone else cries and feels the need to bite the pillow.

Plenty of good guitarists out there, most of them can't play WITH anyone else or anything not in their own little bedroom.

GO OUT INTO THE NIGHT, young cretins and play your mantra.

See who tells you what. The crowd is most unforgiving, let me tell ya..

They'll pick out whatever they don't like about ya, quickly and vocally.
You won't have to guess.

I just wrote a long post to Sean and Slacker, but once thinking about all of it...I just feel bad for both of them. Mostly Sean and his denial. But also Slacker and his inability to see through BS. So be that as it may...everyone is entitled to an opinion whether it is right, wrong, or indifferent.

Sean is the one that came in here challenging people and talkin' crap. People responded to him. See Slacker? It's as simple as that. I don't believe him about his complete songs either, but it is what it is. I think what Sean really needs is this because he shows obvious signs of it through the posting of several videos aimed at challenging people (some of which are levels above where he'll ever be):

I agree bro, tapping is a copout. I pretty much never use it, mainly because it just bores me to tears while doing it.

I'll admit, I only listened to about 15 seconds of it, and what I heard sounded good. Maybe I'll sit through the whole thing later tonight, but I really don't get off hearing someone solo in accapella.

Love that form Metal D!
