R.I.P. James Dio

I just found out! Totally in the not know about this! What was the illness/what happened? I actually met him at the HOB in Myrtle beach SC, won after show deal. Very nice, very humble. What a voice he had. RIP Ronnie.

Ronnie James was a true Rock Metal vocalist, but you would be amazed at what he started singing back in his earlier years. Checkout Ronnie & the Prophets and also The RedCaps on Youtube. Ronnie was singing with these dew oop bands in his younger career. He even did a commercial for a beer. I think it was BudWeiser.

I was lucky to have seen Ronnie during his Heaven & Hell tour when it came to Ottawa. After seeing that show I so moved by Ronnie's talent that I started to look for musicians to create a Ronnie James Dio Tribute Act. We hope to bring the show to Montreal, Toronto, and whereever there are real true Dio fans.

Can you imagine Ronnie and Stevie playing upstairs?

A bit of trivia, Ronald James Dio was born in New Hampshire from Italian parents, his real last name is Ronald James Padavona, he changed his name to Dio (BTW Dio in Italian means God) but it was not religion that motivated Dio to chose that name, Ronny James Dio partially named himself after a New York mobster Johnny Dioguardi.

..and his first band was Vegas Kings because he played a trumpet or somethin.
