Are You Willing To Bend or will that break you? Are you willing to change your style to get into a situation where you can actualy play for an audience with some routine? Do you say to yourself I will not compromise just to be playing. Are you the problem why you are not playing with someone or somewhere? I find musicians to be very stuborn. I think many times we could have what we want if we could just let the walls down a little bit. For myself I know I would be willing to sing Alternative or Bluegrass or originals. You know if you read everybodys profile, it's amazing how much everybody seems to be looking for the same thing almost. I would Love to write with someone in another genre. Would you be willing to put down your electric and pick up an acoustic? Would you learn back ground vocals or play someone elses originals? What do you guys think about that?

Well, I intend to keep doing what I have been doing.
I have a plan for promotion. It's not moving as swiftly as I'd like but it's moving.
I like what I do. And other than improvements to the music and the show in general that will cost time, practice, rehearsal, and financial investments.
I really can't see any reason to change course.

I guess I'm really talking to the people looking for situations.

I did actually do that Klugmo. I went from Hard-Core/Heavy Metal/Nu-Metal (whatever people want to call it) to Reggae. It wasn't an easy transformation to make. But so far it has paid off quite a bit. I'm being able to play venues than 99% of heavy metal bands here can't even touch, for more money than they can touch. It wasn't easy to go into uncharted territories (in a personal musician sense), but it's working for me right now.

I had no idea I'd end up where I'm at by switching genres to where I did. I guess it's just a case of being in the right place at the right time, and working my ass off as a musician. I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping an open mind and trying something new. Be ready for some scrutiny though. To this day only TWO of my Heavy Metal friends has come to see me play live. For some reason, they still think I'm crazy for doing it. Meanwhile, they're struggling to play 1 show a month. We have a stretch of 3 coming up in a weekend that will end up paying us $2,500 when the weekend is over.

I'd like to see someone else on here try putting a Reggae song in their set. Just to see what happens. Do a Bob Marley cover and watch the reaction you get. Stir It Up, Jammin, Get Up Stand Up, No Woman No Cry, Exodus, War.. You might be really surprised by the crowd reaction. They LOVE it!!

6 years ago, I was in a hippie jam band, a rockabilly band, & a bluegrass band, all at the same time, plus I played variety as a solo, & still had time to sit in with a blues band when they needed me.

These days? I'm looking a lot, but I still do the occasional solo stuff.

I'm s'posed to be doing some weird gig at the end of the month with a blues guy, but it won't be much blues, from what I've seen of the set list. There's a Glen Miller tune in there, somewhere. It looks to be kinda complicatered, but I'll do it & have fun doin' it.

Your original stuff is very good - why not just find some backing players and do your own stuff?

I play because I love music. Classical music gives me the same rush that jazz and rock gives me. Although it has been a while, I also hang out with a celtic band. If you love music it's all a party.

Why can't we all just get along.. lol.. Yeah.. I know about the 'attitude' you're referring to. Some of the guys from my last band were metal heads.. and if the lyrics weren't morbid and the music very loud.. then it sucked. One thing I love though about working with other musicians with different musical preferences, is that once you've had time to 'mesh' as a group, you can potentially create something interesting and unique. Assuming everyone keeps an open mind. Anyone up for some metal/country?

How about some metal Mahler? Actually there is a music arranger, in the UK, I think , who does various arrangements of Stairway to Heaven, based on the techinique of various composers. In other words, if Beethoven wrote SWTH, it might sound like this.

I did like many others from Rock to disco it wasn't pretty now I'd play anything but it feels like graduating with a PHD and making a living flipping burgers at Mc D.

I am seriously chomping at the bit for our new cd to be finished. 17 more days!!

I actually heard a local orchestra perform 'stairway to heaven' a couple years ago... Was pretty awesome.

It has been a lifelong dream to write an arrangement of Stairway To Heaven, for flute choir. I better get started.

Have you heard of "Adagio" by Albinoni in G minor? (Link below)
there are countless versions of it can't remember if I heard one done with a flute, I think the flute lends itself to this beautiful melody.

Warning do not listen if you suffer from depression, the piece is a very melancholic one although I get a kick playing it on heavy guitar.
