I'm very disappointed in you Klug. You could have posted a link to a Dweezil video for a 'now'.

Yeah, he's one of my idols who's played with some of the best musicians & singers that ever lived.

Huh? How so? He plays the music of his father note for note. Even plays it on the same guitar with many of the original FZ musicians.

What are you talking about Klug? Zappa Plays Zappa is very successful, having released a DVD and touring all over the world. They are preparing to release the first new Zappa album in years. In many ways I prefer his playing to his father's. And I don't remember FZ ever being on TV much so what the hell does that have to do with anything?

A must see concert if you dig Zappa. I see they just opened for Jeff Beck on Saturday, that must have been a mind blower.

I'm just sayin that his father petty much created a whole genre of his own. Nobody did anything like that back then. He was all over TV Mike Douglas, TV interviews, Steve Allen, Saturday Night Live. He stood alone as one of a kind. Dweezil is a good player but he hasn't moved the earth like his father did. He is doing his fathers music 3-4 years in a row.
Dweezil is a more competent and successful musician than Klugmo was aware. But he is right in elevating Frank above his son.
There will only be one Frank Zappa.
He was not just a genius, as a musician and composer, but intellectually as well.
HIS DEATH STILL SADDENS ME GREATLY!!!

Well duh, Dweezil knows this. But to say he's irrelevant is just...ignorant.

This was like what he did with the music upload thing.
In trying to strongly support or defend something... he feels he is doing a good thing, but takes it too far, on the polar side of it all, unwittingly. In other words... he's more focused on his PRIORITY and when he traps himself... he gets stuck, and when attacked for his error, he feels obligated to defend himself, cause in his heart, he felt his initial impulse was the right one.
That's really the problem with MANY people though.
Posturing.
It is so hard for alot of people to admit they were wrong about something. They expect to be mocked for it.... or maybe they were beaten up emotionally as children, and that kind of carried over, where they learned to DEFEND themselves forcefully, at some point... finally. But now as adults, to admit being wrong... feels like weakness, and makes them vulnerable all over again.
Children are cruel. Adults can be cruel to children also. And many children learn to be cruel (or tough) right back, to... well... survive.
If I could change one thing in the world, permanently, it would be that! To stop people from BULLSH*TTING THEMSELVES and ONE ANOTHER. To stop POSTURING, and just... GET REAL!!!
You can't communicate, reach consensus, compromise, understand one another, find enduring solutions to problems.... NONE OF IT, if you begin from a place of dishonesty.
When it begins in dishonesty, then everything that follows, has been based on a lie. How does anything REAL or MEANINGFUL or PERMANENT result, when it began in a lie?
