Thank you, Glen. When I go out & look around, I feel rather blessed.

There was a guy from CA that came here a few years ago, He could hardly drive around cuz he was so distracted by how GREEN everything here is.

Sorry you're stuck in PA. If you were here you could go to the open mic with me.

Looks a lot like our property in West Branch (up north MI). We have a sprig fed tributary of the Rifle River that cuts through the property. Cold water right out of the earth.

I camped in WV one time, we were the only ones in the camp and could walk around nekkid. The stars were so bright at night! Beautiful country.

Phil's house?

Image

No one has ever seen the inside of Phil's house. Image

No pictures exist of it. Image

Even the people who live there haven't seen the inside of it. Image

All we know, is that the kitchen floor is littered with spent gun shells, underneath an open window...

but strangely... there is almost never any deer meat in the freezer!

Making one confused over why there are so many casings lying all over the floor! Image

Nope. If I did I wouldn't post 'em! LOL

My house is still under construction, in nearly every area. I just built, but haven't yet finished off, a pretty big closet. (I need to make the trim & apply it. I make my own.) I removed another closet to get some room in the kitchen. My next big job this summer is working on redoing my entire gable end on the house, with insulated windows & doors; removing ant-infested wood & relevelling floors; & adding 2 feet through the front of the living room, making it into a built-in entertainment center. I also wanna add a window into the bath & rebuild the rather rough wooden chimney box out front, & I'm gonne need a new roof soon. My main chimney, from the wood stove in the basement, also needs rebraced & then built into a box. I have a LOT of work to do on this place, but it might be liveable someday! In addition to all the above, I want to rebuild my kitchen with a built-in dbl oven & a counter-top range (which is stored in my basement at the moment), but that will require a complete overhaul. I hate my kitchen cuz it was never designed right, but not many are. This one's worse than most, though. I have some rather radical designs in mind for it all, but, from what I can tell, they'll be very useful, & make the entire place more efficient, as well as more visually pleasing. I have a lot of windows that need replacing, too, but they're all a rather odd size, of course, so they're special order & $! Grr!

I want to study fen shui a bit before I tackle all of this, though. There may need to be adjustments to my drawn plans.

Of course, before I can do any of the above, I need some out-buildings to store those reuseable items as I rip them out. I've managed to save up some materials from deconstructions & over-orders on jobs (which I paid for, btw, before you ask if I've ripped off my employers, Craig! LOL) Of course, my yard is a cluttered up disaster as I wait for the rest of my materials...LOL...but I should have them soon, & have this huge mess taken care of with my sheds. (I'll post pics as these things are accomplished, now that I know how to do it!)

In the far-reaching future, I may add on to the north end of the house, to get a decent-sized bedroom, but that'll hafta be a two-story addition, & rather costly, if I don't decide to put it on piers (which is against code, btw, but the hell with the code on my own house, right?)

I'm also looking into some newer construction techniques, using unorthadox building materials like tires & bottles & such. That would save me a lot of money on my foundation for the bedroom addition. It's a lot of hard work, though, pounding the earth into tires with a sledge hammer...

If I do get to that bedroom addition, it'll be the perfect opportunity to build in a nice lil ground-insulated root cellar.

I'll be working on it all until well after I'm dead, from the look of it all.

:?

Doesen't look like you have neighbors close by. Ideal for BBQ's, beer, and live outdoor music.

I live on a long, narrow ridge. Sound travels farther than you might think, here, so I keep my outdoor activities quiet, for the most part.

For loud parties & such, it's better to drive 1 1/2 miles to the bowl in the ground at Dddonnie's. We haven't done that for a cpl years, though.

This is a view fom the stage. Note the old stage It floated about 100 feet into the yard when the Tilhance flooded one year, so we built a new, bigger one, & anchored it so it can't move. This one is 16 x 8 & carpetted. We use this one for the sound man, now.

Image

The new stage is 20 x 12, & I've been pushing for a roof for 3 years. When we throw a party, we tie a rope from the tree in the previous pic to the back of the stage, & use a huge 100 foot square tarp, in case it rains. We dress it up real nice with fabrics & lights & backdrops, & it becomes pure magic at night.

Image

The view for the audience is great in every direction.

And there's plenty of parking...
