Hey, my name is Kaika. I'm 39. I play guitar, write songs, sing (poorly) and independently release my music when the urge strikes. I use to work in a recording studio in NYC in the early 90's but gave it up to move to New Hampshire and start a family. I've worked as a teacher for the last 9 years. If you want to learn more about my music or hear samples of my work, check out my website www.thequahaugs.com

Hi I'm Jim Krause (rhymes with "drowsy") and I live in Lawrence, KS. I've been playing folk/roots/old-time country/Americana music for nearly 40 years now. I have been playing fiddle, mandolin, and singing in a 1920s-30s type string band for 23 years. We usually take a long break from about the middle of May to the middle of August. So I have a lot of time on my hands during the summers. I thought I'd put together a folk-rock/country rock band since I recently bought myself a Rickenbacker 12 string. (Love that chime and jangle!) I found a bass guitarist courtesy of bandmix.com. And among my jam buddies I've found another guitarist/vocalist who is interested. And through the music school where I teach, I got in touch with a steel guitar player who would like to be part of the project when he can. Now all I need is a drummer.

Hey everyone,
I've actually been on bandmix for a while, but I don't think I've ever posted on the forum before. My name is Brian Futch and I live in Atlanta, GA. I am singer/songwriter/artist, father of six and husband of a beautiful wife. I love to write rock/country/blues.

I have a few songs posted here:

Hi, Brian.
I see that you do not accept friend requests from bands . . .
Why not?

I did not know that, must've been something I overlooked. Let me see if I can fix that.

Fixed. I assume you were talking about myspace. I didn't realize you had to check a box to allow bands to make friends requests.

Mary, that posting you made to introduce yourself? Your introduction reads more like PR, than a posting from a real person.
I just want to let you know that there's a lot of musicians here who have been writing & performing music for 20, 30, 40 years and more. For example, between me and my bass player, we have 80 years of experience.
Many of the musicians and singers here are quite excellent.
And we are all real people: no PR to speak of.
I know you want to be famous, and all . . . so you'd want to maximize your chances, wouldn't you?
So, that leaves me 2 more things to say:
1) Welcome. :)
2) What do you think it takes to be famous?

Whats up, been around band mix for a minute or two, but just now getting to the forums..my name is John, but call me anything you want...I've played bass lazily for the 1st 5 or 6 years, and in the last 3 have really cracked down, I was a hack guitarist, but the bass has always been where my heart is, besides, I've got big, burly bass player hands that aren't comfortable playing dainty little guitar strings. I play in a band called 45 auto, I play a ESP LTD F-414FM, through a GK Backline 600 head, into a Peavey TRX410 cab..
