A 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Solomon Islands on Sunday at 8:00pm Australia time.

According to the the U.S. Geological Survey, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake stuck the Solomon Islands on Sunday. The country is made up of approximately 1,000 islands in the Pacific Ocean.

The Solomon Islands are located in the South Pacific region and regularly experiences tremors. The Australian Broadcasting Company The USGS determined that the earthquake's epicenter was approximately 97 kilometers southwest of the Solomon Islands' Kira Kira.

There were no major Tsunamis alerts or damage reports. This is a big concern because an 8.0 earthquake struck the SOlomon Islands in 2007 which generated a Tsunami that killed over 50 people and made thousands more homeless.

Check out the trend of Powerful Earthquakes that struck in 2010:

GRANADA SPAIN - Here are maps of that Granada Spain earthquake today. Spain’s 6.3 earthquake today was close to Granada, Malaga and Almeria, and several hundred miles from Madrid.

Here is the latest.

Shortly after 12 AM Monday Spain was hit by a major earthquake registering a 6.3 magnitude. Unlike other major earthquakes as reported on LALATE in the last 30 days, this earthquake was substantially deep, over 380 miles below the earth’s surfaces.

No aftershocks have yet been reported. Expect however numerous earthquakes in excess of 4.0 magnitude to strike the region in the next 7 days after an earthquake of this strength.

Yesterday at around 1.30 pm EST (I think?) There were two rumbles here. There are trucks all over the place that dump and while they do make a rumble this made the ground vibrate. The house was quiet, I don't think you would notice this if you hadn't heard it too is my thinking.

Nothing on the radio or news. We did have two tremors last year not too far from where I live. Both minor of about 1.5, separated by about 6 weeks.

What the heck is that image of? Looks like a bad photoshop rendering to me......
Don't worry I have my spies on many sinks on bottom Earth should the poles shift.

6 Different Earthquakes in China in a 3 hour period.

More than 400 dead now, and thousands injured.

That makes at least 8 serious earthquakes just in the last 3 or 4 days!

I've been saying for some time that I feel the weather patterns are changing in some way, that's where my interest lies because I can see it myself via NASA and other sites.

I did pull up this from the respected USATODAY:
http://content.usatoday.com/communities ... -related/1
"According to long-term records (which exist since about 1900), the U.S.G.S. expects that about 17 major earthquakes (magnitude 7.0 - 7.9) and one great earthquake (8.0 or above) will affect the world in any given year."

And this from Naeem who says its Gods doing. (Article above is linked via Naeem).

Welcome. I'm digging now. the Internet is rabid with uselessness these days. You used to be able to type the answer to a question and it would bring up heaps of info. These days its just fresh news and useless doorway pages.

I did find this from 2007

Of course we all trust wikinews.

This is very interesting and they were very honest that the site had been updated from 2005.
This relates to a comet they say passed us in that year?
The 1812 Madrid incident:

The comet relating to the story above:

Makes for interesting reading.
