I've gotten some good advice on these forums. It's the only community I ever post on. A lot of other forums I've visited seem to have tensed up smartasses on them who only want to debate.

Haven't hooked up with anyone yet, but that will eventually happen. I'm sure once I record some better tracks that show what I'm capable of as a player, then I might generate more interest. That means I should cut out my horrible vocals and put some leads down to some quality sounding instrumental stuff.

Hasn't helped me find band members.
I found all my band members by meeting people face-to face, talking with them, and leaving them a CD of my music to listen to.
.
When I find a thread that's not loaded with wises-asses or complaining, though, I like to discuss music-related issues, and see what others think about things . . .

Yes it has.
I've met and spoken with a few people from here. I've no doubt that if I had something going and could get something going I'd find a group/band in a heartbeat.

That said I would do the same if I were anywhere else too.
Touching on what RM said very badly in my view because I think people have a right to a view, that is what this thread is about. I think the forum does too often get too distracted though given the times we've just been through and possible futures that is not surprising either. If the forum were actually run at all, we would all be better off with place for everything.

RM you are a very lucky man getting anyone to play 'just your stuff' I know I couldn't do it and I don't expect anyone to join my bandwagon either.

That therefore is something for you to smile about.
Again.
Have a good weekend -
What is left of it.

Like Mel Tillis, Dddonnie doesn't stutter when he sings. I think it's a breathing thing. But now you know why I call him "Dddonnie." He also doesn't stutter when he announces, which further convinces me that it's a breathing thing.

One on one, though, a convo can really LAST with him!

He's the only guy I know who has a handicapped sticker on his telephone!

No kidding..I thought you were fing with me, Phil..

We have a DDonnie and he doesn't stutter (as he looks over my shoulder) but he's a huge man and if he wasn't riding around with us, we'd have very little in the way of people carrying any large objects with no issue and impromptu security.

I pay him extra if he gets blood on his shirt..

(Owww J/ k Don, stop punching me or I won't be able to use that arm, ya goon!) lol

EDIT : He's DDonnie because it's David Donnie Sears, but he hates being called Dave/David/late for dinner.

To answer the original question...it hasn't helped me out at all. The last time that I was here, I got a few responses from kids that thought because they had a bunch of gear, they were a band...LOL! In all seriousness, they couldn't even play a simple rhythm. Now that the band that I'm in is looking for a bass player, the results have been just the same. Damn it!!! I could've just pissed the money away on beer or some good green.

On the upside of things, I like to help people out with any knowledge that I have that allows me to do so, and I get quite a few LOL's from these forums.

Thanks man, but I gave up on that just after I started this profile. The last time, it was just me looking for a band (which would still be cool because I still haven't found people that can hang with my full-on riffs), but this time I'm advertising for the band that I'm in. Different scenarios...same results. Meh...I'll just get some lulz from the forums I guess, LOL! Oh yeah and at practice tonight when I drop my 2 newest tunes on the guys and they just stand there staring...that gets pretty lulzy as well...Hahaha!

Maybe it just depends on the genre too. I know that only a small percentage of people on Bandmix never even hit the forums.

Thanks Capt. Scott, glad you enjoyed them. I get the Queensryche compliment alot, and it IS a compliment. I'll post some of the other tunes off the latest and older albums as well. It's funny how your style can change with time. :)

Thats awesome Hugh, now thats what I'm talkin' about. :D
We also got a nibble just a few minutes ago from a female who wants to try singing back-up for us. Sweeeeeet!
I definitely suggust putting some tunes up for people to hear for themselves. She really dug all our styles so... I can't wait for practice.
