I must admit, I like a Traditional Country(older country) song that is played and sung, by a "talented" Band.
Recently I have have a few inquiries from Bands that are playing "the NEW Country music" as to whether or not, I would play keyboards for them. I would like to go on record as stating, NOT NO, But, HELL NO !!
The other day while motoring along in my car, I decided to give the "NEW Country" music a listen. I was curious, perhaps I am just Bias ?, not being fair ? Perhaps, the music has gotten better ??? Well, I forced myself to endure thirty minutes of listening to one of the bigger country music stations in my area. Yep, just as I thought. VERY poorly written songs, about, Momma, Daddy, Pick-up Trucks, and Tractors. These songs were being sung mostly through their nose. You could sew these guy's mouths shut, and they can still record a complete album. Oh yeah, and the overemphasized country slang. Hell, I live in Kentucky, and I don't know anyone nowadays that talks with that much country drawl.
After that experience, I realized how GOOD a smooth talented "Traditional Country" (or) "Classic Rock" Band sounds.

It strikes me how much new "country" sounds like old rock-n-roll poorly performed.

I hate to say this but I got two tickets to the Brooks and Dunn "Last Rodeo" My question is; do I need to go out and buy a cowboy hat and boots?

Before someone else says it.....earplugs.

Just kidding. I don't think you need cowboy boots and a hat. Not a huge fan of the look. But some people pull it off better than others.

LMAO Yeah it's like letting people know they could get kicked in the face at any point for any reason.

Afterwards, you can blame it on the spirit of Chuck.

(he made me do it, officer)
