I got a chance to hear this little SS amp in the store the other day.
Compared to the Marshall SS amps it sounded pretty darn good.
Much thicker less muddy sounding. and @ $300.00

Anybody have any experience with these ?

Bandit has been a Peavey mainstay for years... the new one is no different. Rugged lil amp with a decent sound and lots of wattage for comparable amps its size.

I personally never liked the "Saturation" that was on the older models... and do not like the "Transtube" on the newer ones. That said, its a lot of bang for the buck and a GREAT clean sounding amp.

But for $399 the 50 Watt Peavey ValveKing blows it away. I think the Bandit gets a little louder on the clean side before it breaks up... but either way the ValveKing sounds better and is more versatile.

Thanks for the input Dewy:
I should not have even bothered to ask as one of these dogs followed me home from the store today. LOL
Kept giving me those puppy eyes so I decided to keep her.
I have been looking for a decent sounding SS for practice and as a backup to my Nomad.
So far I really like it. Like you stated the clean seems really nice and the three way presence switch along with the 3 way on my Les Paul have made some pretty cool clean blues tones.
The overdrives are OK. Not my Nomad but OK. The young man I deal with at the store had one already set out after showing it to me the other day. What took you so long he said. He threw in a foot switch he had there for free.
Think I'll use it at rehearsal next week so I can tweak the EQ too the band.

Thanks again.

Bugera are decent sounding amps... they didn't come out until after I bought the Valveking.

They are Chinese made/ Behringer Designed Tube amps.
In a lot of respects the v-55 is identical to the ValveKing 1-12".

LOL we ( Ray ) has a B word PA that served us real well till we out grew it's inputs.
One should not brag too much on a brand based on experience with just one piece of equipment but it was not real expensive and remains a serviceable little PA.

I think I like my little SS amp. :D

lol Sans always an exception to every rule..

And I know another acquaintance that uses one, I just personally think less of that brand because of individual misadventures.

Holy crap! I've been gone for almost a year and I'm seeing a lot of the same people are still here! Cool! It's Dave Crowe here, BTW. I don't even remember what the last profile was called now (maybe Shreddin?).

Anyway...Peavey amps are the most bang for your buck that you can get. I just got a Peavey 6505+ half-stack and it totally annihilates the Marshall JVM410 half-stack that I used to have, and for about $1,200 less as well. Peavey makes an amp for every genre/player out there. Mine can do it all...literally.

Hey Sans! Long time no see!!! :)

Welcome back.
I like my Bandit 112, but after a week or so of playing it exclusively, last night I hooked up my Carvin Nomad.

No comparison in depth / feel. That tube amp ROCKS
Also broke out my Strat that I've not touched in over a year.
Think I'll keep her handy.

I've had a Bandit on my to-buy list for a while. I need a backup for my Classic 30 (which I love), and need a small SS for that.

That Nomad does look sweet, though...................

A back up was the majority of the idea behind picking up the Bandit.
But also to have an amp I can practice with in the house when the weather is too hot /cold in my studio.
Now I need a good A/B switch, possibly an A/B-Y
Preferably mechanical so there is no bleed over.

I've played one of these quite a few times, & they're a decent little amp.

I bought a Raven practice amp for my step-son, neat little 15w thing.. sounds better than my little crate, which died an honorable death in service, lol.. Anybody know someone who repairs these things?
