The health care pkg they're offering is not a good one, however, &, in fact, it's liable to put undue economic pressures on ppl even more than the current system.

This crap they're offering for pres approval will have your med records & bank records cross-referenced through the IRS, as it's been explained to me. They will assure that the med bills, your copays, get paid FIRST, possibly by taking it out of your accounts directly, while you may end up missing your mortgage payments.

So, once again, another bill is in the works to protect the interests of yet another business, rather than yours. In effect, this bill would seem to be very very good for Dr's & hospitals who are having a rough time extracting thier overpriced bills from ppl, without protecting the patient.

There is damned little good to be seen in this bill, for your average American.

If this thing goes through, EVERY American best buy extra insurance to cover that which is NOT gonna be covered by the plan they're pushing on us.

See? The Dems are no better than the Reps. They're ALL in someone's pocket.

You have to be careful there... because there are lots of self servicing explanations available. With all legislation there has to be some trust... we trust the CBO to score these bills, and they do not have a flawless track record.

Take for instance the "cuts to medicare throwing seniors under the bus". Medicare advantage was forced thru congress under a republican house and senate VIA RECONCILIATION... and CBO said it would reduce costs in the long run.

Well it hasn't... and now its being cut, as is the loophole allowing every grandma to get a Mobility Scooter. Folks just go back to Medicare... so they are not dropping coverage. They can still get reimbursed for s scooter if they have a true need.

I do know that the electronic records section of the bill will reduce costs, but I have not been able to confirm or deny you're suggestion that:

I do feel like the bill would have been better with republicans participating in good faith to legislate. Unfortunately, no matter how much effort and time was wasted reaching out to them... they passed on that option.

So over the course of 40+ years I have managed to shake the implanted notion that "every life but the one different than your's is sacred". In Alabama we have "dry counties" where moral groups take kickbacks from bootleggers. Where the Governor takes money from Indian Casinos and enforces his personal belief that "Bingo" is immoral on the rest of the state.

So yeah, if the "school of liberal brainwashing" is growing up in a backasswards, self servicing, religious community that likes to beat their wives and kids while voting to keep the profits in illegal activities... its my Alma Mater.

I pay my health care OOP Glen.
The way I see it, if insurance is going to cost me $600.00 a month.
I might as well put that into an interest bearing account of my own.
Or bury it in mason jars. I'm a lower middle class guy. If I have a catastrophic illness, insurance ain't going to save me from going broke anyway.

That's pretty much what HSA (Health Savings Accounts) were created for. It's a high-dectible savings account that is shielded from taxes as long as it is used for medical, and you can cash-out when you retire with no penalties. There is also a ceiling on yearly out of pocket, so you find you're gonna need a million a year to pay for your new iron lung machine, you only pay the maximum dedcutible for that year and it comes out of your savings account.

I know a vp of a big insurance company and she readily admits that they find ANY reason not to pay out on ANYTHING.
