[b]I will be going to AC in May and the only thing I play is Roulette. I was wondering if any of you have any systems that I haven't heard of and might try when I get there.

I love roulette, it's a lot of fun. 8)

There is of course no surefire system but you can increase your odds by playing smart. The number one rule is never place a bet that is guaranteed to lose. What I mean by this is never bet more than one single number per spin. This is also the most commonly broken rule as you will see people placing chips on single numbers all over the board. If you bet more than one number at a time in the very best case of the ball landing on one of them the other numbers are guaranteed to lose.

Here is my system for what it's worth. I always play number 17, the only reason I picked that number though is because it is centrally located and easy to reach from any position. you can choose any number you wish. I bet 5 dollars a spin placing one chip on the number and one chip on each corner of my number. This give me 9 spots that can win something. If I hit right on the number every chip wins.

1 bet has a 38 to 1 chance of winning. That SUCKS. If you bet 12 #s you have almost a 1 out of 3 chance and that sounds much better. Out of $100 you have 8 bets at $12 each. You get 8 bets. You have to win 3 out of 8 spins to be ahead. In other words you can afford to loose 5 out of 8 times. Doesn't that sound better. The best possible hand betting $1 on Black Jack brings you $1.50 in winnings. A$1 winner in Roulette gets $35. That's the game to play.

Most people bet various amounts on favorite #s or random #s or patterns they see on the history board. I believe in getting 3 to 1 odds no matter how you do it.When I was 17 I hitch hiked across the country and worked in the casinos in Reno for 2 1/2 years. I have many stories of those days but I did learn a lot about Roulette. Roulette is the only table game in the house that the dealer has input on the outcome of the game. It has the highest odds for the house but highest reward potential for the player. A small streak of LUCK can be very profitable very quickly if you recognize it and bet correctly.

Don't play Roulette.

That's my advice. LOL

Blackjack and Craps have FAR BETTER ODDS.

You can probably TRIPLE the house advantage for Roulette.

I totally understand why people use this strategy. It generates a lot of action and fun. But the math is flawed. You hit a number and it pays you $35 but you also lost $11 on the other bets so your net win is only $24. So really your 5 and 3 ratio is reversed. You would have to win 5 out of 8 in order to come out ahead, 4 wins would give you a net loss of $4. Since the odds are 38 to 1 on hitting any particular number no matter how many numbers you play you would be better off playing a single number on 100 games. You would still only have to hit 5 to be a winner but you would have 100 chances instead of 8. It would take a long time though and be pretty damn boring LOL.

Don't discount my strategy off hand though. It can be a lot of fun too. With your method there are only two possible outcomes. Either you hit and win $35 and lose $11, or you lose 12. With mine you have 9 numbers that can win and 4 possible outcomes. (Based on 17 being your main number) The worst of course is you miss altogether and lose $5. If 13, 15, 19 or 21 hits it pays $8 and you lose $4 for a net of $4. If 14, 16, 18 or 20 hits it pays $16 and you lose $3 for a net of $13. In the best scenario you hit your number and then you win $35 for the number and $32 (8 each) for the corners for a total of $67 and you don't lose anything. Plus you get 20 spins for the same $100 and you only have to hit the main number twice to be a guaranteed winner.

Whichever way you play have a great time and if worst comes to worst you can always drink $100 worth of free beers.

Regardless I will let you know how it goes. I am bringing two friends with me from West Virginia that have never been to a casino before and I may spend all my time keeping them out of trouble.

No worries on my account Klugmo. I'm not much of a gambler in any case. I remember as a kid loads of old people in betting shops filled with smoke on a Friday hoping to win some cash for the weekend.

Never understood it really although I did know one old Jewish guy who must have been the luckiest person alive at times. He was exceptional on the horses and though, yes he lost from time to time there was mostly a treat for me when he did win, that happened quite a lot God bless him.

Good luck!
