BWA! HA! HA! LMFAO!!!! I think that was the funniest post I have seen here yet! With all due respect for you youg'uns I thought for sure this was going to be a 16 year old (like $9.99 is a fortune or something) I could find that much in my couch cushions. But know Bob is 58! BWA HA HA! Grow up dude! Ditto to what Colors said.

Here's yet another dumbass I have to straighten out. (Man I'm getting tired of this.) First of all the "free" websites AREN'T FREE. They are loaded with advertising. They have many paid features. They are annoying as hell, pop-up ads all over the place, loaded with viruses I might add (Myspace and Jango are anyway and they are "free"). All the time I have communnicated on Bandmix I have never been interrupted by a virus warning. Second, "free" websites like Craig's list are generally populated by rank amateurs. I have been contacted many more times on Craig's List and Backpage.com than on Bandmix but the quality of the respondees has been higher on Bandmix. Anybody who pays the premium membership fee here is most likely a little more serious musician. I like the way Bandmix is laid out. I like the forum here. It is relatively uncluttered by the commercial crap you find on the other "free" sites. I have heard horror stories from a few very fine musicans who have had all their Myspace info stolen from them by hackers, including their large Myspace freinds list. I'd much rather do the bulk of my musical communications here than on Myspace or Craig's List which are inferior websites in my opinion. You get what you pay for in this world and when you don't pay anything you generally get worthless crap. Just a thought...

I see it like this:
You have a public golf course, minimum greens fees and no membership required. Ignorant as$es hit balls into your group, are rude, turf the course, and you are generally playing on a less well maintained course with soggy greens and trashed fairways. Basically, a less desirable game, but hey, it's cheap, right?
Private clubs charge membership + greens fees, but you get a quality game, as$hole-free, solid fairways and regulation greens. Basically a great game of golf.
Now I play on public courses, but my dad is a member of a nice club, and when I play with him, the difference is night and day.
So, bringing that to this problem... it's NOT an issue of one ideal being better than the other.. if that was the case, then one would have died off years ago. Simple fact is that these guys are right, it's about paying for a better pool to choose from, which actually excludes you, dude.
You are welcome to hang on the forum though

Hey Bozo, I went and listened to your audio posted on your profile page. You're a fine bass player, can play circles around me (not sure if you can sing circles around me). I don't understand when you say you won't FREQUENT this forum. That was your FIRST post. Is one time FREQUENTING? You went to the trouble of creating a pretty nice profile page here, you should get some quality responses on Bandmix. It might be worth your while to become a paid member, you might be pleasantly surprised. Have you browsed any of the Bandmix members in your area? You're an advanced player who SHOULD take advantage of Bandmix to locate some PRO players who take enough pride in what they do to become a paid member here. Membership has its privileges...

Maybe that $9.99 can go towards a gym membership, just saying...

I don't mind if you screw BandMix but leave the poor horse out of it.
first off its hard for me to take someone with a name like Bozoo Chavis seriously to begin with.
I kinda like the idea that you have to pay to be a member, Why cause at least the people that do this are committed and if you are looking for a gig you dont get stuff from every tom dick and harry on the planet like CL. If you dont want to pay then dont, why make a big deal about it!
Its that time of month when someone blows off steam.
I personally dont look at this site as a place to get a gig, I know some folks have, I look at it more for entertainment and sometimes some info on problems associated with playing live or recording.
At times it gets into politics, religion but these are areas that i just avoid, however at times they make a good read. You know like Rolling Stone when your sitting on the toilet. Some days I just need something to pass the time with and these topics are good for that. Im sure there are sites for these type of rants, and there are sites where people are actually doing something. I have to remind myself a lot that this is a music site.
Anyway Bozo, I will shorten it for easier memory. Welcome to the site or bye bye, with one post up Im sure youve been lurking on here for a while. At 58 you can probably relate to a lot of us if you decide to hang around for a bit. If not good riddance!
