So, in trying to save $ on groceries, I bought a big ol' cheap turkey, figuring to munch on it for a buncha days.
When I cooked it, I was surprized to see that it was done a whole hour earlier than I'd expected. I put some potatoes in to bake, & worked on the rest of my family's meal. After 40 minutes or so, I checked the potatoes, only to find they weren't done. This puzzled me, until I looked up & discovered that I'd cooked the turkey on the Broiler setting, instead of bake. So the top of the bird was done, but I had my suspicions about the bottom...so I put it in for the extra hour, & now it's dried out as bad as any I've ever eaten.
I'm a big fat dummy, ain't I?
I'm so mad I could spit.
Still, I'm gonna eat the damned thing if it kills me! It does make a pretty good sandwich...if a little chewy...maybe it'll work in soup?
I don't make too many mistakes in the kitchen, but when I do make one, it's a doooooooozy!
