Handgun bans in Chicago:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35671214/ns ... _politics/

"James Feldman, a Washington-based lawyer representing Chicago, urged the court to reject the challenges to the gun laws in Chicago and its suburb of Oak Park, Ill. Handguns have been banned in those two places for nearly 30 years.

The court has held that most of the rest of the Bill of Rights applies to state and local laws. But Feldman said the Second Amendment should be treated differently because guns are different. "Firearms are designed to injure and kill," he said."

Um...duh! Yes, they are, & that is exactly why ppl need them - to be able to protect themselves. How f*cking stupid are these ppl, that they cannot see that?

Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Everyone has the God given right to protect themselves and their families however they see fit...

Excuse me folks,

but the second amendment was given to us to protect ourselves from big out of control government. They did not want taxation without representation to ever take hold again. The war with England was still fresh in mind.
I am sure that if the founders of this country were reincarnated, the first thing they would do is march on Washington and remove some of the commie bastards that have taken over our country. That amendment was not put in there so we could hunt rabbits. It was put there so we could resolve problems with politicians who would not listen to the voices of the citizens of this country.

They actually taught that when I went to school. But in order to dumb down Americas children for a political take over, that is no longer taught in school. It hasn't been for quite some time. Too bad.

If it were still taught, perhaps we wouldn't have the problems with the traitors that are trying do destroy our way of life in America.

Oh Oh. I gotta go now. . Hmmm .... a bunch of guys just got out of a big black car and are heading up my sidewalk.

If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

If we don't know the answer to that question after so many years I doubt an honest answer could be given by anyone could it?

Yes of course it does. It is written in very clear English that needs no interpretation by judges or lawyers.
We as citizens have the right, nay the obligation to be equally armed as any other branch of our government.
Those whom commit crimes with arms should be executed without delay. This however is a totally different subject.
The right to keep and bear arms is the cornerstone of all of the other rights. It is the primary check of all the checks and balances.

From my cold dead hands.

I'm not really pro-gun or anti-gun either one. But I think that it's interesting to consider that we were given the right to bear arms back when guns only fired one shot and then needed to be reloaded, and many people lived out in the open country with the possibility of wild animal attack.

I'm not saying nobody should be allowed to have guns... it's just something to think about.

It only takes one bullet from some CRACK HEAD to kill you or your Wife or your Mother or your Daughter. Tell us you wouldn't want a gun in the house if one was kicking in your door at 3:00 AM. It happens every day in this Country. It doesn't matter why when you are face to face with death in the mix.

Well, I doubt that that would have made much difference to the founding fathers. It should always be a man's right to defend his family, his property, & himself from ppl & out-of-control gov'ts. It may have even pleased them that ppl can better defend themselves.

Wish I could source these, but...

- I remember some county or city that actually REQUIRED it's citizens to own at least one gun. It was a political response to the threat of gun legislation making the rounds. I also remember that once instituted, crime went WAY DOWN in that place! ;-)

- Another thing I remember reading, was a news article decades ago, which quoted from a poll of criminals that had been conducted. These criminals had been asked what they fear most, when approaching a home they intended on stealing from. The options were, police or dogs at the home, and few others. The overwhelming response was.... the homeowner having a gun. Almost without exception, they feared that most... Facing a homeowner with a gun!

Those one shot guns the King wanted to confiscate were the assault weapons of their era.
Keep that in mind as well.
