I'm trying to find my copy of 1421, but it is eluding me.

I'm gonna guess that this is a reference to the chinese zodiac, but I'm unfamiliar with the chinese astrologers/astronomers.

All I can recall of the sign of the snake is that they are often quite beautiful, vain, & hot-headed. (And even that prolly came from some placemat at a restaurant!)
