Anybody see Nickleback play, I thought they sounded good, maybe too good I kinda wondered if it was canned?

Yeah John, "digitally enhanced" is the new PC term for it. They weren't the only ones either, but Neil Young was totally live (did you hear his voice crack like a 13 year old going through puberty?)

I also liked that band Inward Eye, cool name too.

Don't mind it. Like certain events; hockey, sking, bobsled, luge and speed skating. I get a patriotic feeling from it!

Part of my problem with getting into the Olympics this year was with how they presented them. They would only show things in small sections. Seems like back in the day, they would show almost the whole line-up of the event. Take figure skating for one example, NBC would show a few skaters, break away to another event, then come back to figure skating. What is up with that? Makes it hard for me to get into anything that way. You know it was all taped! Too much studio time between their event showing. I don't mind the back stories, it is interesting to see. I miss the old way of showing the Olympics back when it was an ABC presentation. Remember when Eddie the Eagle did the ski jump? That guy had guts even though he was in NO way a contender. There was not a single story about someone that gave his heart to a sport just because.

You are so right Robin, the event is huge dollars now and anytime money is involved values get distorted. I remember the ABC days too, they were good. But it seems like everything is a commercial now. Many of the atheletes stand to make millions because they're not just sports personalities, they're stars. But overall it was a great Olympics.
