Kind of an old school R&B tune.

I'm working on some newer R&B stuff too.

Thought I'd throw this up anyway.

Well done Craig, but aptly named for my taste.

Thanks guys.

And hey Sans... I haven't abandoned Rock and Roll brother!

I am trying to get REALLY focused right now, and start writing the songs I am capable of writing. And writing in MANY styles... Rock, R&B, Metal, Alternative and even.... Country!

I am really trying to get my sh*t together, over the next 6 months, and turn out some good tunes, I can put on Demo CD's and start sending them to places and people that can make something happen for them.

I really need to find even limited success, with songwriting, that they can pay some bills, or I am afraid... I will have to close the curtain on it, as a career before long. :-(

But that's NOT going to happen! :-D

I hope!

LOL

Barry White needed this intro! I don't think your voice fits this as well it does in the other genres you do, cuz that country-ish-ness still comes through, Craig. Good tune for the genre (which I HATE, btw!).

Probably so.

I actually "do" have a good R&B voice, but this song is too high for it to come out well. I need to be in lower ranges, to pull the James Ingram out of me. ;-)

This song was just recorded as a "demo" for a client, who is sending it to someone at Atlantic Records for consideration by one of their artists.

But...

Why do you hate R&B?

I'm surprised.

It just bores me these days. The singers practice thier scales on every line of every song, & can't hold a damned note. Plus, the message is usually a simple love slogan or lust slogan, more often than not. I can't say I hate it all, just whatever it is that I've been hearing.

I like the old school stuff, but the new is just accessories without substance, from what I've been hearing.

I have enjoyed one or two Alicia Keys's thingies, but even she can't seem to get away from the modern take on what used to be a good genre.

Oh... I get what you mean.

I agree with you in large part, although there are some good R&B tunes out there, even modern ones.

But you are right for the most part.

It's nice to hear sleek vocal runs, but I agree, they are often overdone, and not well placed for better effect.
