Robins are those pretty young girls that start to show more skin when the sun starts to climb over the horizon of winter. You tend to see many more of them as it warms up, at concerts and even bar gigs. Warning as it warms up they have been known to change their names to silly ones such as cathy or brittiney or terry or vannessa.
So Slacker just be carefull as you move into spring. :)

Forecast is for snow tonight. But it's still above freezing so the roads should stay clear.

whats wierd is that, this is the warmest winter for fairbanks alaska since 1937. It never even got to -50 farheiniet this year. it seems that the lower 48 got all of our weather.

all i gotta say to that is, if you dont like the cold and snow then, GIVE IT BACK!

Sssh AV, global warming is only relevant to these guys if it's in their backyard. If the polar bears drown, so be it.

Global wraming? I wasnt talking about magic, im just saying I want my cold back since the lower 48 just complain about road conditions and weather related deaths anyways.

If you cant be grateful for such a wonderful gift, then give it back to the north!

All the glaciers in the entire world are simultaneously receding. Stop looking at the world through your tiny, localized, anecdotal viewpoint.

Which is why the midwest was bombarded last year and why the whole of America is lower in digits than in many years before. Not a single Hurricane last year, not one. Saving it.

Its just spots, this happens ever 100-200 years.
They companies are making a killing off of Al Gore's inflated statements about global warming.
Its been known through history that the ice comes and goes.
Hell, new york city was snowed in so bad on year they couldnt get resources in to them. Or the great plains that became a huge snow drift.
Ireland almost starved off a few hundred years ago because the groud use to cold to grow potatoes. While on the other hand, it was said that back in roman times that you could grow tropic fruits in greece and a lot of the rest of the empire.

This is just something that happens, always has. Why does man feel the need to stop what is not in his control?

Heres a tidbit i thought was funny.

Al Gore was blasting off greenhouse gases statements riight? it was asked that is the gases stopped heat rom escaping, why did it not stop it from entering? Gore had no response.

It's called the Greenhouse Effect. CO2 allows sunlight to enter but it does not allow infared (heat) to escape. The planet Venus probably once had a very clear atmosphere, but because of the extreme vulcanism CO2 and other gases built up and trapped infared rays. The surface of Venus is around 850 F now. If the planet's surface was a mirror there would be no problem, the light would just bounce off into space (earth's oceans reflect about 28% of the sunlight we receive). This is very basic science, easily obtained, but your mind is like a parachute: it must be opened to work.

I tried to keep this a light fun thread. Right away Jimmy you turn it around and start to repeat all the old info that all the major climatologists are so busy running away from, because in the end we have much more major problems to deal with, the ones that will affect us next year, not in a thousand.
PS those polar bears didn't drown.
You better answer to Chippy for turning this nice fun thread into a major political debate when it was not going that way.
