I know a lot of you guys around the country have had a hard winter. Just from keeping up with the news it seems it must be a bit like running a marathon. Its like am I going to finish? They are saying Houston has had the coldest February ever (so far). I was refinishing some end tables for my wife's aunt today and the temps here have been very mild here the birds wee singing like crazy. The flies were getting stuck in the varnish I was using the mosquito hawks are out (an insect that looks like a giant mosquito that actually eats mosquito's). It is very normal for the spring to start at the end of February here on the Texas Gulf Coast. We are supposed to get another cold front tonight LOL! Usually the temps start getting higher this time of year and we just get cold fronts come in and cool things off for a couple of days. That is the kind of weather patterns we get here. How about you?

The last few days, temps have hovered above freezing, so my lil path is one big pud muddle, but at least the icicles are gone from most of the houses. The snow is still waist high where they plowed it up & there's plenty left on trhe ground, but it's s'posed to rain for awhile now, so maybe it'll go away like a bad dream...

I actually saw part of my canoe yesterday...there's HOPE, folks!

Unfortunately, Ian's car broke down last night. Timing belt, it seems. So now he has to decide whether to fix the Camry or to fix his Escort that the plow guy hit after he parked it after hitting the deer & busting the windshield last T'giving day.

Meanwhile, I hafta find a babysitter ir put off the practice that would be the 1st we've had with the old cuitarist (who's supposedly cleaned up his act). We've had to put off practice for 4 weeks running & I'm getting more than a little antsy.

At least I get to hang with lil Jace today. That's almost always as fun as I can make it...unless he's feeling poorly. He looks pretty good so far though, so yippee!

Haley I think we've had just a few days here above freezing in the last 3 - 4 months. I for one am tired of it pal :( Looking at the weather charts it seems pretty far and wide that temps are below normal. I think where we are we'll get a few weeks of torrential rain soon then in good ol NJ style someone upstairs will turn the heat on and aircons will be humming again.

I can see buds starting to form here but we are in for at least another week of cold/rain and perhaps yet more snow. Certainly the longest cold/snow spell I've witnessed to be honest. Others have probably seen more.

It was 50 degrees here yesterday and most of the snow melted.

We had 3 weekends of snow here which is rare. But this weekend was nice 65 sat and 60 yesterday, its back in the 40s today.

I cant complain about a bad winter thou since one of my business's is a propane business. I still prefer 75 degrees during the day and 65 at night, that just seems like the perfect temps for my body.

Looking out the back of the house across the lake. One fish house left. It will stay like this till the 2nd or 3rd week in March. Here in northern Minnesota we still will have a couple of big 10 to 16 inche snowstorms.

Its a little 6' x 8' or 8' x 10' covered trailer with large holes in the floor. You drive the fish house onto the frozen lake, drill holes in the ice underneith the shack. Inside the shack its totally dark but when you look down into the water under the ice its like looking into a big aquarium. You watch the fish swim under you and then you can eather spear them or use a fishing line.

That's very inventive. It's also something I've noticed over here, ingenuity.
Thanks.

We have yet to see a day up to the freezing mark. Usually it is about 7-10 degrees below that 32 degree mark.

I'm starting to feel more like a mole every day.

And it still snows every other day.

We got dumped on today, about 8 inches. But I saw robins in my yard the other day so it won't be long until spring.
