I still have 5' drifts everywhere in my yard. So does everyone here as far as the eye can see and beyond. It has snowed about every other day, and it hasn't been up to freezing for months.

The ground is frozen way beyond a few week thaw. What is going to happen when all this snow melts if we have the usual winter one day, summer the next day type of spring? We usually do.

Are any of you concerned with flooding. All that water has to go somewhere. I'm just wondering where.

My property is within 10 blocks of the Missouri river, and 6 blocks from "Perry Creek". I am in the low plain flood area that was prone to flooding in the past. They did some straightening to improve water flow on both waterways, but I wonder if this will push the limit.

How about you guys? It could get very wet out there this spring.

We're actually behind on snow totals here, so they're saying the Great Lakes may be a little low this spring. Snow melt is what feeds the rivers, lakes and aquafers so it's a good thing, especially down south where drought conditions are common later in the summer.

That's the problem. I may already have a house boat. It just hasn't been launched as of yet.

Actually, in spite of this winter's multiple hassles, I'm thankful for the snow for 2 reasons. 1 - my water table has been low for years, & the slow melt will seep into the ground, giving me more water than I've had in a long time. 2 - the slow melt will encourage the morels, those wonderful mushrooms that I love so much, to grow.

Yeah, we'll see some minor flooding as the snows melt, & it might not even be all that minor come Monday, when we're s'posed to get some good rains. My house is plenty high enough to miss any floods in this area, though, as I sit on a ridge about 80 feet up from the lil dry creek below. It would take a HUGE amount of water to flood my house, but most of the roads nearby will have problem areas that'll need to be watched out for.

I saw grass today. Man I forgot what green looks like? Nice stuff too. (No I don't eat whatever with it!)
Hot summer ahead preceded by torrential rain I think this year, at least here.

It's a normal thing in East Texas.
The White Bass run should be in full swing next month.

I got mine for free from that customer with the collapsed rook on the gazebo. It's brand new, with a 21" width. Just a lil "Yardmate" by Tecumsa, but it sure did the trick for me when I finally got it out to use it.

Only I would like it to operate as in your pic. With a recliner style seat, an arm rest with a beverage holder, an FM radio / MP3 player built in. Aww what the Hell.... Maybe a nice heater and a canopy for those windy winter storms.
