I just posted a bit of guitar karaoke, doing the Hank Marvin style lead to a back up track of "Apache" I found online. I'm trying to get a multi-head tape echo thing going by using 2 analog delay pedals set at different repeat rates. I want to redo it when I can borrow a Strat...the Gretsch I used isn't quite the right sound.

I REALLY enjoyed Apache. I've always liked surf. Some of Freddie King's instrumentals are surf-influenced. One of the best shows I ever saw was the Ventures (about 1983). I've played a number of surf tunes in the various bands I've been in. I rev up the bass-lines, we've done some killer versions of surf classics. Really good playing Dajax!

If you are going to play Surf music you have to have a Fender amp!

Yeah. That is the stuff that was popular when I was just learning to play.
Ingram Jordan or something like that? My memory is lousy and my name spelling even worse.

Well I do have a blackface Twin Reverb that needs new tubes, and a new spring tank that would be perfect if it were up and running, but on Sunday I will be redoing this with a Strat, and a blackface Fender Bassman, so I'm sure that will be closer to the mark

Yep, Jørgen Ingmann released his cover in 1961, about a year after the Shadows released their earlier recording

Thanks FB, I'm really considering doing a side project outside of the classic rock band I'm playing in now> http://soundogband.ca <doing a solo instrumental, mainly surf guitar thing, just using pre-recorded backing tracks, and playing guitar live for weekend matinée gigs. If I decide to go ahead with it, I will rescue my Mid 60s Fender Twin Reverb, and My late 60s Fender Mustang from storage, and get them up and running again
