I was warming up my arthritic flanges for a jam session, it helps them to bend a bit more. I was thinking of recording this old blues tune on my DAW, and I was still working out the chops. I turned on my Canon and thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to record it in case something actually worked. Some worked, some didn't. But I uploaded it anyway so everyone can see my latest new Strat.

Way cool. Reminded me a little of a tune Roy Buchanan recorded years ago with Stanley Clark. I believe it was on the Loading Zone album and was called Tar Baby & Brer Rabbit (?). Really fine playing, are you gigging these days?

Bob,

Thank you for listening and replying. That is a John D Laudermilk song, far removed from the original. Unfortunately, I missed a couple of chops that I wanted to put in there. Recording on camera still makes me self conscious.

I'm not gigging at all. But I still drive 120 miles round trip to jam with my old drummer and bass player.
I quit playing clubs because I was disgusted with having to play music I didn't like for drunks in places I didn't care to play.
I quit for over 25+ years never to pick it up again. And I didn't until a friend started sending guitars to me to tweak my interest in picking again some 25+ years later. It worked.

But just like the other old timers, sometimes I think I want to gig. Then I remember how I felt like a bug under a microscope. And on the downside, I have Septic arthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Osteoarthritis all over my bod. That would sure take the fun out of gigging on a consistent basis. I do still get offers but I can't sit out another 25 years if I get sick of playing again. :)
