Lucky for us, we got a whoppin' half inch of the white stuff! Anyways, Most of us around here are pining for spring. :)

P.S. Robin,
Good to here from ya! Sorry to hear that you're snowed under. Are you out gigging yet?

Not yet, just joined another band. We will see how that works out. They are going for May to start gigging.

As for the Pocono ski resorts, my first time (and only time) on skis were up there. I didn't really like skiing because it was like sliding down on two flat sticks on ice! Found out that the "icy" slopes were because it was man made snow. I want to try out in the west one time before I die LOL.

Good luck with the new band!

32 FRIKEN INCHES OF PURE FROZEN HELL!!!! I know cuz I made precise measurements so I'm absolutely positive I gots PLENTY to grump about!

I didn't get out until 5 PM today. The state didn't even plow my road. Thank goodness for neighbors with equipment.

My internet sat dish is on the roof. of course, so I couldn't even get o/l cuz it was buried.

I'm a grumpy monkey after throwin' my back out with that damned tv the other night & then havin' to shovel, too. Thank goodness the wife ain't afraid to pick up my considerable slack when it comes to shovellin' snow...I think I'm gonna milk this for another week, cuz we're s'posed to get another 8 to 12 inches starting tomorrow...& them more on Sat...heh heh heh

Grump grump grump!

Just thought I'd stop in & say that my wife & son are both a cpl of real dumbasses, & I'm no frikken better.

They were both determined to get to work today, in spite of the damned certainty that we're gonna get more snow. I, of course, being the dumbass that I am, told them both that since Jace's day care is closed, I'd hafta drive them to work & watch him today.

I just got home from that lil trip. The roads aren't even cleaned up all that well from Fri & Sat's snow, but I got them to work. The radio & tv stations all said that the snow wouldn't start around here until well after noon, & that we don't have anything to really worry about until tonight, but somehow I didn't believe them. Of course it started while I was out, right after I dropped them off at 10 AM, & I consider myself lucky to have made it home, cuz the dust on the packed down snow & ice was tough to drive on.

Now I hafta go BACK & get them both, drive Ian & Jace home, AND make it back before the roads get too tough to drive on, but of course the wife is saying that she has to stay a good 2 hours yet, before she can leave. I told her that was BS & she'd best be ready to either go when I get there, or plan on staying the frikken night & possibly beyond, cuz I'm coming!

This pure stupidity, cloaked in the description of "dedication to one's job," could very well mean the end of this entire family. I can't believe I went along with it in the 1st place. I'm as big a damned idiot as they are.

We've had predictions of anything from 4 to yet another 24 inches between today & tomorrow. Wish me luck, cuz from what I've seen I'm gonna need it!

DAMMIT I'm sick of this crap...will it never end? We're s'posed to get even more this Saturday...

Grump grump grump...

We're supposed to get 3 inches of snow Thursday night. Hell that's like 3 feet anywhere else the way these morons drive.
Don't matter to me much. Got the Jeep and many years behind the wheel in all kinds of weather. (oil field ya know)
But I am concerned about the band. We're supposed to be prepping for our gig Thursday night, but I'll skip a practice to keep the boys safe any day.
Some of em drive 30-40 miles one way.

Lighten up Phil. The global warming will fix this right up a couple of months from now.

My most regular customer had one of those Mennonite gazebos put in on his deck & put a hot tub in it. The skylights blew off into his neighbor's house last winter, & they had the outfit that installed it replace them. They blew off again last summer, so I installed some nice Lexon 3/8 inch thick glass, & put braces in it to keep everything nice & tight, since the thing was out of warranty. This morning I got a call from them, & the good Dr said I musta left some screws out cus it collapsed. He's gonna hafta call his insurance co on this one.

I had nightmares about being sued by the insurance co cuz the thing collapsed, so I drove over to check it out. It's a hip roof, & I couldn't imagine the job I did as being anything but PERFECT, ya know?

I like to died when I saw that the entire roof had turned inside out! It's like a big funnel on top of the lil building! I'll bet my skylights are still intact, though! I'll try to take soe pictures of it when I can get close enough to the damned thing, cu they haven't been dug out yet & thier driveway is about 6 or 7 feet deep in drifted snow.

We got another 14 inches out here on Monday, & of course I couldn't get back o/l until just now cuz the dish was buried on my roof.

Fortunately, I got some gas for my brand new snow blower that's never been used. I think I'm in love. It took about 20 minutes to clear what would have taken about 4 hours to clear with a shovel.

I am a lil worried about my roof, though. I have one helluva lotta snow up there with no way to get it off, & we're getting another 6 inches, they tell me, come Monday.

This has become one snowtorious winter. My wife calls it "snowmageddon." I am not amused!

Driving is hazardous at best. The roads all have single lanes, & you gotta get a running start to get up many of the hills around here...both ways! I expect a lot of head-on low-speed collisions in this area before it gets cleared.

There IS some good news, though. Open mic starts up again on Sunday, & I'll bet there will be LOTS of ppl anxious to get out to socialize a bit after the 2 weeks of cabin fever. I feel pretty lucky that the wife didn't kill me, or vice versa, after being trapped in this place for so many days.

Hope everyone else is having a better time of it all than I am.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Scientist "Nancy P" stated to our leaders that the lack of moisture was due to global warming a couple of years ago. Naturally, the puppet "news media" media spread that fact non stop for days.

NOW those very same people (Along with the state run media) state that all the snow fall (Moisture} is caused by Global warming.

OK. I understand.

And why was it changed from Global Warming to Climate Change when it was proven that the earth has been cooling rather than warming over these last years.?

OK I understand

And why did the Climate Carbon Credit Scam legislators in Washington drop the bill when it wouldn't pass, and turn "Climate Change over to a government agency so they could do what was in the bill without ever passing a bill?

OK I understand

It snows almost EVERY DAY here this winter.

Will you please inform those f*&&^%g idiots that since it is our carbon emissions that caused "Global Warming" and Climate Change" that they need to lower our fuel prices and mandate that we all drive SUV's so we can save the planet before it is too late?

Finally dug out the woodpile & the basement entryway. Wheee! Now I can have free heat again! Too tired to bring in wood though... :(

The snow's too deep & too heavy for the snow blower at this point. It just gets clogged.

Hre's a tip for ya - right after the 1st bit of snow, spray your sat dish with PAM. The snow won't stick to it after that. I'm out of the stuff right now, & my shovel could sure use a spray!

You definitely DON'T understand Slacker.

You also provide no sources for your statements.

Global warming can cause more snow in the winter because there is more water available as glaciers and ice shelves melt. I presume you've seen how much of the Antarctic ice shelves have been lost; this is ice that was thousands of years old and had millions of tons of water locked up. For the first time in history ships can freely sail in the Arctic because the ice there is also melting. The end result is rising sea levels and more water in the atmosphere for rain and snow.

As the cooler ice-melt water enters the Gulf stream & the Pacific stream, it brings with it cooler temps, so we should have fairly nice summers for awhile. When the trend stops, though, it's gonna be really hot in the summertime!!!

Still, I'm not enjoying the weather changes around here as much as I hoped I would, & I imagine that it'll prolly get worse, too, over the next few years.

How'd you make out with your snow, HJ? I don't even see Paul on here lately, looking the posts over. Hope he's okay.

This was as bad as the one we had in 96. Worse, in a way, cuz we didn't really have a chance to clean up from the 32 inches before we were hit with another 14 in this neck of the woods.

jimmydanger,

You are so brainwashed by liars and ill informed. Nothing will let you hear the truth. But here is a proverb. He who believes a prophet receives that prophets reward. Even if every fact that shows Global Warming is a hoax, were laid out for you on the table, you still would not be able to hear it.

You need to ask yourself something. Is there a profit motive in the "Climate Change" industry? It is a giant industry, you know. And if there are mega profits to be made through this myth? Who stands to make the most.? Follow the money.
And who will benefit other than politicians and the filthy rich who are heavily invested in "Green" technology and the high taxes taken from selling "carbon thin air" credits.

Unfortunately there are many fools out there who would sell their liberty and way of life so some con men can get rich.

Seriously.... This freakin' shoveling 2-3 times a day is taking it's toll on me  I have a 6 car driveway and a ramp, for my kid ,that takes just as long as it does to shovel as the driveway.... Lost 2 days of work this week because I had to do about 4-5 hours of shoveling so my family could get out... Now I'm finding out we're gonna get yet another nasty storm Monday night - Tuesday all day... I work 30 miles from my house... I go to work at 2am....Which means in order to get to work, I gotta start shoveling at least by 10PM... My shovel is a mess... I'm sooo fukkin' drained from this crappy winter.... Here's my driveway and ramp after shoveling for hours yesterday:

I took some real short video, about a minute of it coming down hard, and a couple of minutes the next morning when the sun finally came out. I will post it soon as I finish filling the dvd and finalize it out.. We got 24"+ on that last one, it was quite spectacular, they closed school 3 DAYS straight. Never saw THAT in my life!

Now yeah, another storm coming for mon-tues.. eesh, we've already broke every snowfall record in recorded history lol. geezum!
