What it comes down to Alan, is really quite simple-
You have no musicians networked regionally or nationally to team up with potential "artists" whom you may sign in the future. It's rather stunning that in this world of instant communication, that you cannot find a single one for the one artist you do have signed up, but that's another topic I suppose.
And here's your problem. You need capitol to support that artist, but you also need musicians to also support that artist. You are expecting the musicians to consolidate on your site so the combined capitol can help support the atrist(s) now and in the future.
Such a lofty and questionable goal is seemingly shackled right out of the gate. Why would any musician sign up, knowing that because you have such few other artists and musicians, that their efforts (their money) will not turn over anything for a year or more? And that's assuming you have any sort of success. You really are asking that someone just hand you money on the hopes that way in the future, it pays off for them.
You have no screening process, so an aspiring musician may join your site on hope, and never make the cut to even get to an audition. How can you turn down free monthly dues to someone who sucks?
What you really need to do is what everyone else has figured out when it comes to the internet: Offer something on the table to entice musicians.
Why not offer a 6 month or 1 year FREE membership for musicians? Surely you would rather start your site with hundreds of musicians already on hand, and maybe even charge a small fee for "artist referral" to each musician to hook them up with an artist as a way of getting something for your 'free accounts' and then the monthly paid musicians could have unlimited referrals?
No offense, but the current model you have would never, ever, entice anyone who has ever come in contact with an Amway recruiter. If you are looking for suckers (and I'm not making accusations), then you might find a few, but certainly not enough to profit off the venture.
If you seriously are sincere and honest about your business, then you should either consult with an internet business specialist, or trust those of us who've watched hundreds of comapnies like yours start, then fail, over and over and over.
You probably don't like it, but you have to admit there's a lot of truth to what I'm saying, and I will guarantee that you will fail if you don't adjust your business model.
Then again, I think I can speak for everyone here, that Hayden's offer is true and valid. If he came back here and said your service was honest and valuable, I would sign up, as would a lot of people here. So.. take him up on his offer... Let us see how that goes.
