 Oh boy.... are you gonna be in for a load of crap when all these sleepy heads wake up! You want, you want, you want... yet you don't post any samples of your vocals... Nothing in life is free. What on Gods green earth makes you think in this day and age of financial horrors that someone is just gonna throw you free studio time because you say so????

I'm addicted to music also... I want people who have recording studios to offer me time or something also..... Anybody else want in????

Gimme, Gimme, Gimme

I dont car what it is just give it to me!

Im with Crip, you need some kind of samples of what you can do and especially what you sound like before someone even considers giving you the time of day.

On the other hand in my area anyways, there is a serious shortage of good vocalist. Im in a group right now that could use a good front man or excuse me front person. Maybe Im just getting old and jaded but when I was younger it seemed like there were a lot of good singers in my area. Most of the groups that play a lot in my area are only average in the vocal department.

All I cn say is get out there and hit up all the places you think you want to sing in and bug the crap out of people til they give you a shot. Thats what most of us have done at some point or another.

Good Luck in your search.

Ahh.. good 'ol Manassas..

I used to live there. Quite the craphole; no offense. If you want to go anywhere, you gotta put in your time, create demos, join bands / projects, show people what you can do.

Singing karaoke is MUCH different than singing "live" with a band. No 'studio' will touch you until you get some real experience. Put out an ad here (not the forums, but the site itself), and get a demo on your profile. There's literally 1000 free recording programs for the PC that will suffice. There's no excuse for not having at least a basic demo these days.

I realize you are probably new to everything, and some of us can be harsh, but take the advice given and you will earn respect, which is not given freely in the world of music.

Hmm... It is true, you have to be careful with being forceful in this business. I mean I have never tried out for a band or record deal, but I know this just as commonsense. No one starts at the top. You got to work your way up the ladder.

I have a couple of suggestions:

1. Being that you are female especially, cut down on the cursing. Cursing a lot, especially from a woman, could prove classlessness, and I do not think you are personally, but a studio person might. It is not as expected from men I do not think, because most men are dogs  (Even though they should not curse so much either!)

2. When you write about yourself for any form of a job, even in music, use some grammar. Write a short resume about yourself, with items that mostly correlate to music.

3. Practice singing night and day and make sure to have plenty of samples. If your vocals are not where you want to be, get singing lessons, see if that helps.

4. Be tough and learn to take harsh criticism, it is going to come your way no matter how good you are. People can be downright cruel, but sometimes just telling the truth. Take their suggestions to fix whatever is the problem.

5. And most importantly, please be very patient. This will prove the hardest part of anything in life, especially music. I have been playing guitar 2 and a half years, and I am a long shot from where I want to be. I practice constantly, probably 5 hours a day or more at times. Patience is a virtue.

Anyhow, I am not some know it all, but I have read a lot, and talked to a lot of people. These are just suggestions, I mean no offense.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Nah, I always say "Save the cursing for two things: when you're off-the-wall pissed and in bed."

Lmao, Andragon. Haha.

Notquitextherex, Lol. Okay, so you are not the girly girl, I understand. I am happy you already knew all that, those are some important pointers. All I can say at this point is good luck and I hope you make it.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

If you getting with some people try to record what you are doing, so you can hear what is going on and what you really sound like. It doesnt have to be professional, heck Ive just turned the little recorder on on my cell phone to listen back later.

Recently Ive been doin a lot of recording and it lets me know what I need to work on.

Good Luck
