My goal is to write enough songs to record a demo and do the local tour.
We have a local circuit that actually lets the heavy metal bands play. Doesn't pay well, but it's a good way to build a following. I know most of the bands and their material and I'm pretty confident that we will eventually be headlining the shows.
That is if we ever get a bassist.. We have a guy that's supposed to audition tonight though!
I'm a performer and the thrill of being on stage is rewarding enough for me. The only thing that excites me about making it big isbeing able to play for massive audiences. Now theres excitement!
I have to agree with that one man, the one thing that excites me about playing is the idea of a large audience. I mean, I do not want to go pro, but I still want that large audience somehow, lol.
Look, it is hard to get noticed. But a bit of local airtime on the radio and you get a boost in fans. Hopefully the guy auditioning to play bass for you is good, help the band out.
I am contemplating the starting of a band by mid-next year. By then I should be good enough, I will be the lead guitarist, lol. I am not doing rhythm. A lot of times rhythm guitarists do not get attention, which would suck. We forget about the Stone Gossard's, James Hetfield's, Dexter Holland's, etc... So yeah, I am going to play lead. I will probably mess everything up the first couple of shows on stage (Shy and nerves).
Well, good luck with the band man.
Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.
