I think Jon is right to a point. What happened to going into a music store with excitement to buy a record and coming home to listen to it. Yes you put it on and oh sh*t some of these songs suck, but it was what it was. Those days are gone but need to come back. Music now I think is in the toilet and everyone sounds the same. RAP SUCKS. We need a resurgence in music and bands from the good old days need to come back.
Or we need people to step up and make it happen. I am a drummer willing to do almost anything to make a record. To get on stage and pound my ass off, lose maybe 5 pounds from sweating from hot lights and rocking. My thing is, everyone who made it is safe. I know bands that need a chance and now those who are safe, WON'T take some of these bands and give them a chance.
The record companies today want just about every dime you make plus the rights to what you write and play. So what does one do. Anyway I want to hear back from you all and pass it on, and maybe something good can come out of one reply.
