Paul,

I saw this one before.

Thanks for posting it.

So Phil, you found NOTHING that he said which rung true to you or made you think? Nothing?

Why yes, Craig. It shows me yet again that over-typical & unique attitude among some Americans that they are oh so totally strong & independent that none of us need health care if we cannot afford it, no matter where we live, or what our circumstances are.

It also shows me a continuing & appalling trend to brag & bluster over one's lack of education on the issues, & the tendency to make it an emotional issue rather than one of any real substance.

I think about that stuff a lot. Don't you?

This video mentioned above makes me think about as much as these do:

http://www.yikers.com/video_rednecks_and_politics.html

http://www.yikers.com/video_the_barack_obama_song.html

this one makes equal sense to the one above:

These make me think, too:

http://www.yikers.com/video_sarah_palin_blows.html

But this is my personal fave. WHAT is the old man LOOKING at as he literally wrings his ring finger of his left hand?

Another argument to keep the electoral college, Franny? LOL I can understand it.

Yeah, you can always fool the fools who won't learn about the issues, & as the "rednecks & politics" vid above shows, there's no lack of fools...& BOTH sides in this & every election should be very worried about them, because they can, frankly, be the "swing votes." Perhaps that's why our potential leaders find it so necessary to bait these ppl that would usually be apolitical with the cries of "racist" or "sexist" or "terrorist" or "war-monger," etc.

And let's also face the fact that we can't any of us be up on ALL of the serious issues we face. We go by our opinions of the issues, often without knowing much about them other than the tv-speak we hear so much at election time. We go with that information, & with our own individual takes on our experiences with the ppl & parties running.

There is no doubt that the candidates & the media have been widely distributing slogans & junk that we needn't hear, that just muddies up the situation until the issues are rarely heard about at all.

There IS no one that represents you, any more than there is one who represents me. Go with your gut & hope for the best, & if you choose not to vote, or to write in someone not on the ticket, well, that is a message to the powers that be, too.

I just love it when I hear ppl say that if you don't vote, you haven't the right to complain. Sorry, but that's not true. Those ppl have paid taxes for whatever form of gov't is running things. They are just as deserving of good gov't as the rest of us, & they have paid for it no less than you, in most cases.

I honestly haven't voted since 1980. I voted for the winner of that election, who was the 1st president ever to declare war on a significant portion of our own ppl, who's failed policy has overloaded our courts & our prisons with ppl who have harmed no one. That bothered me, but I have yet to see anyone who will reverse this dangerous trend, & since I found very little to differentiate the two parties on this & other issues, I just didn't vote after that. I DID pay my taxes. I WAS a contributing member of my society in other ways, as well. I had as much right to complain as anyone who voted, as I simply found no one more worthy of my vote than anyone else who was running at the following elections.

This time, however, I have become quite incensed with far too much, & I DO see some differences that I will be basing my decision on. If other ppl do not, I don't begrudge them that.
