OMG!!!!! I remember those!!!!!!!!! 
I seem to recall a local rocker back in my neck of the woods had a set of those. I also recall that the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps used them. I mean this was like back in 1982, I think!

Yep, that drummer is now my boss, but does not drum anymore.........I believe the band was called OHM.......
