No.
But a 80's comeback has been happening for a while. More hard rock based, but you also have bands like The Killers and The Bravery.
80's cover bands are huge attractions.

Well maybe a little; AIC is reenergized, Pearl Jam is still kicking, and RATM and Soundgarden have reformed.

I think right now is just a smorgasboard of garble, so as long as you know how to mix a bunch of genres together, you can fit in.

Me likey Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, good deal!

For me, the 90's were mostly a musical wasteland, so I'm not hoping for a return...

that's pretty much what happened... sh*t :!:

I liked a lotta 90's stuff, but I liked stuff from other decades too... then; not so much when I hear it now.

Good music can be found in any decade, as well as the BS. It takes more effort to seek it out as we age.

I felt the 90s a lot more than I felt the 2000's... wow can't believe we just started a new decade. Wonder how this decade will be...

90's music was a mixed bag. It seemed like the 80's trying to relive the 70's, which was far better the second time around. In the 70's and 80's the right-wingers wanted the 50's back and the left wanted the 60's back. This infinite regression of nostalgia of nostalgia of nostalgia gives me a stomach ache.

There is a consistent 20 year cycle for style and music. The 2somethings relive the stuff from their childhood. I did it. Then by 30 everybody moves on and the next generation does the same thing. I wore bell bottoms in 93. I had 70's hair. Then when the kids after me wore the puffy vests (like back to the future) I was shocked. You can always watch the kids do it. I didn't see it until later. It was fun! And like Jimmy said every generation (and every genre for that matter) has great music. You just have to weed through the crap.

Ha, a Gin Blossoms comeback? Interesting. That 20 year cycle does mean the 90s bands are going to start their comebacks. I recently saw a cool video interview about session musicians and music careers with a rock drummer who did some recording and touring with Gavin Rossdale in that band he was in after Bush, yet another 90s band due for a reunion and comeback. He seems like a cool guy. It's worth checking out - he shares some good advice.
