In 1990 Danny Simpson of Ottawa, Canada, was given six years in prison for robbing a bank of $6,000. When the police examined the .45-caliber pistol he had used in the robbery, it looked so old and out of date, one officer decided to take the serial number and have it checked. Surprisingly, it was a rare type of which only 100 were made, making it worth up to $100,000.
