How about the fact that most of teh worlds leaders are squabbling over what little is left, including who has the rights to drill for the minor amount UNDER the north pole?

Common sense says leaders don't lose their minds over resources that we have 'so much' of...

common sense also says there were only so many dinosaurs that got buried before they deteriorated. I believe I heard that religions are now arguing that the oil reserves actually replenish themselves...

Petroleum does not come from dinosaurs.
Most petroleum origins are traceable to single cell organisms, plants etc.

well yeah, collaborator- THat was kind of my point, if we manage not to nuke ourselves, we're going to suck up all the resources (oil is only ONE, and not even a necessary one) anyways and destroy ourselves eventually. It's in our nature, so why worry? My argument was that it's inevitible. All I can do is not bother, and I was kind of serious about not having any more kids - we're overpopulated as it is, having more kids is being part of the problem, not the solution...

But in the end,enjoy what you got, right?

I conidered this in my life as well, long ago, that when I had kids, I should have two at the most, so as not to increase the population, and not just because of NATURAL RESOURCES, but because parents have only so much time in a day, to devote to their kids, and KIDS NEED LOVE and ATTENTION!

I realize, of course that two parents could handle more than two kids, and give them proper attention... what I am talking about, is the irresponsibility of some parents to have an ARMY of children, when there are ALREADY children needing loving parental figures who are stuck in orphanages and such.

I'm not really judging, just saying that I agree with you about this, and about using our natural resources more wisely.

I mean, just look at many of the views we have here in these threads! Not to mention the way our laws are written. Our society has become a wailing soccer mom, constantly trying to make everything safe at the cost of our freedoms. Talk about a testosteroneless society! HAH! Enjoy your mammaries, guys!
