Washington (CNN) -- President Obama may be the most popular man in his administration, but according to a new national poll, he's not the most popular person.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday indicates that the president's poll numbers pale in comparison to the favorable ratings of two women: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and first lady Michelle Obama.

Fifty-eight percent of people questioned in the survey have a favorable view of Obama, with four in 10 holding an unfavorable view. But the president's favorable rating is 10 points below that of his wife and six points behind the secretary of state. According to the poll, 68 percent of the public have a positive opinion of the first lady, with 19 percent holding an unfavorable opinion. Sixty-four percent have a positive view of Clinton, with three in 10 holding an unfavorable view.

Craig,

frankly, this is a musician forum.

I know it's "general" chat, but the majority of your posts have NOTHING to do with music anymore.

Not that I mind a political or religious thread once in a while, but you are at the point of brow-beating and it's affecting the "harmony" this forum once had more of.

If you need suggestions on places to argue feverishly about obama being a terrorist muslim and stuff, I might suggest the "political party" forum on harmony central, it's loosely moderated and you can argue religion and politics there until your heart is content.

Here's a link for quick access:

Eh...JFK went through the same crap. Is this really newsworthy? I think not.

There are ppl out there like Rush Bimbaugh who want to see this pres fail, & have said so on numerous occasions. It wouldn't matter to them if he were the 2nd coming of you-know-who. They just hate him.

Kinda like how I felt about his predecesor after his 1st couple of presidential actions. Of course, I DID give that asswipe a chance, at least, unlike these haters.

Kramer,

I respect Obama's charisma, intellect and self-control. I'm glad he was elected President, although only for one reason... Because it opened the way for other African Americans and moved this country forward regarding those old barriers, which have now, gratefully, been broken!

This particular post was not about dissing Obama at all.

I just found it interesting that his wife was now more popular than he himself was.

She was the albatross hung around his neck during the election.

Remember the comment...

"This is the first time I have been proud of my country."

I think that is an amazing image ressurrection.

She has clearly won alot of people over, in the last year.

I find nothing at all surprising about that. Americans are probably the most judgmental and easiest fooled people in the world. Not a good combination IMO.

There still seems to be way more political and religious threads here than needed.

I don't mind the political and religious threads that are POSTED HERE BY MUSICIANS. Part of the alure of some very famous musicians (Bono, Bruce Springsteen, etc.) are their political viewpoints. I consider all the Bandmixers' non-musical posts very interesting. It doesn't bother me at all. Now if somebody who is NOT a musician starts posting on the Bandmix forum, THAT would really piss me off too.
