Whoa! That's a very sad story.

I take it that there's no way to screen to see if this can happen to others, either...or to find the actual cause of this?

Yeah, I'll take my chances, too, Kramer.

I wonder, if this happened to someone who's job required the shot, if they would have any recourse at all...

They don't say whether she has any, for that matter, or if this is a permanent condition...damned news programs always leave me hanging on the important questions!

That reporter was kinda smarmy, too, wasn't he? Didn't care for any part of that one, but I'm glad I saw it.

Thanks, Kramer!

They did mention in the commentary that there's no known cure - which leans towards permanent in my book.

It's really sad, and I know I bitch way too much about vaccinations, but the government has NEVER been honest with the public about vaccine safety, and has done nothing but deny and take steps to cover up the truths.

All those "anti-vaxers" you hear about? Yeah, that term was invented by the goons that the various agencies and political affiliates came up with to demonize what we really want- We never asked people to NOT get vaccinated, we only ever asked people to DEMAND "clean, green vaccines",. not poisonous time-bombs.

Fact: The government has a fund set up, and pays out over $700Mil in settlements to families afflicted with various diseases and afflictions caused by vaccinations.

Interesting info on that: Autism isn't, and will never be considered a "vaccine-injury" because that number would be closer to $700Bil..

Please note 'She' said that the Flu shot gave her this condition. Without trying to sound uncaring the reporter probably loved every minute of this, it was his chance on TV.

Key phrase: "Shocking the nation!"

For me frankly and though I never have, I might get that shot.
Something wicked this way comes and it isn't always a bug.

I know the reporting was sensationalist, I didn't mean to be so lopsided about that aspect of it - unfortunately, there's no such thing as non-sensationalist journalism anymore.

When we got our daughter vaccinated, we asked the doctor a very direct and specific question before hand-

"what are the chances of an adverse reaction or effect, resulting in permanent damage"?

His response: "Oh, vaccines are totally safe, the rate of ANYTHING going wrong is one in a million

Turns out, that was WRONG. Had we known the real statistic, we would have NEVER agreed to let him poison her.

Yeah, I'm bitter

She has dystonia - it happens. It's a neurological disorder - it's literally in your head. The vaccine 10 days before was purely coincidental. It's very likely she would have acquired dystonia without the flu shot.

Thousands of people get various forms of dystonia without the presence of a flu shot in their lives. Dystonia is not a flu-shot disease. This would be the first documented case of a person acquiring dystonia due directly to a flu shot. The numbers simply don't add up. It's another media-conjured scare story.

BTW - if any of you follow Scott Adams (or his blog; he's the guy who draws Dilbert) he had vocal dystonia. A new form of surgery helped him. It has been really interesting over the past few years reading his blog and seeing how his dystonia affects him and how he has had to deal with it. In Scott's case, much like Desiree Jennings, he was able to perform some things normally - in his case he was able to do some speaking normally. For instance, he could do public speaking - speak on front of an audience just fine. But he couldn't talk to people in a normal way. Desiree can run and walk backwards.

It's a neurological problem. Not a flu-shot problem.

It's not any conspiracy theory that keeps me away from flu shots. It's the fact that I personally have terrible luck, . If anyone was going to have some freak reaction it would be me. This is why the idea of laser eye surgery is out of the question too. I'd rather wear my Clark Kent style Raybans, then risk blindness

I do realize that, but the coincidence to other vaccine related injuries isn't just coincidence, especially autism. On topof that, I'm with Dajax.. I'm the guy where things usually go as wrong as the worst-case-scenario allows for lol. My recent surgery was a miracle in many ways, mostly that my bad luck didn't take over... but there's still time I reckon :P
