Fantastic! An American president is awarded, (note that he did not ask for it), the Nobel Peace Prize and citizens of his own country have an issue with it? They have an issue with it, not because they care about the Noble Peace prize, they don't but because, (and I'll quote and early poster in this thread who is a Christian no less), because they hate him. I believe that Christian poster said that over and over and over, he hates him. No real valid reason, just a bunch of lies and the words, "I hate him" over and over. Cute. Now I am sure they have their reasons to hate but hating is not a value that Christ espoused, so I fear for that poster's soul. Hate leads to killing and killing is a sin. Cheat on your wife too? Maybe? Just sayin'...

Why not feel good for that nation? The world likes us and they see Obama as the representative of the American values they like most. Is there something wrong with that? Why can't twenty five Swedes express their opinion about an American, without it becoming grist for the politically stupid?

Have you read the New testament or only the Old? Jesus does not want you to hate and if you were true to your ideals, you would never write those words. But you did. It speaks ill of you. Des - I can see your point. I can also see sans', to a degree. He feels that this guy is bringing on the downfall of the nation.

While I don't agree with him, I also must note that there has been no real healing from the debacles of the last 8 years of mismanagement by Obama's fearless & clueless predecessor.

To give a guy a NPP based on conjecture & predictions, for simply giving lip service to the word "change," seems stupid to me. There has been no change thus far that I can see. Bailouts are still being distributed. Unemplyment is still rampant. Banks are getting ever more arrogant with us, their customers. Our two wars are still going strong, & Bin Laden's still at large. The nation's failing infrastructure still hasn't been addressed. Health care has become a ridiculous argument on both sides of the aisle, just as it was in the dark Bush years. I see no change, anywhere.

The only thing that Obama has done thus far is to apologise for his predecessor's failings as a leader. He hasn't yet begun to lead, himself. I'm still waiting. I'm still hopeful, but not as much as I was when he was elected. Hell, even John Stewart is getting a bit impatient with him!

If Nobel were alive today, he'd prolly blow himself up with his own dynamite after seeing what good his legacy has brought to the world...

The Bush administration was given 8 years by the American public and the result was that they lied about WMDs, got us in an illegitimate war that we'll be paying for for years, ruined the economy and our world image. But through all of that I never once said I hated Bush. I think you have to know someone personally to be able to say that, and even then only if they did something horrible like kill someone in your family. Saying that you hate a president who hasn't even been in office a year is not only un-Christian, it is un-American and immature. They didnt lie about WMDs... we gave the damn stuff to saddam in the first place. They got moved into syria before the 'inspectors' could find anything. If they ever really inspected anything all that closely.

That's what's amazing about our bombs, they're smart enough to avoid babies, children, old people and women. I'm sure all 700,000 of those killed were foaming-at the mouth terrorists.
