Hey guys,

I signed up with Snocap, so if anyone is interested in supporting my music by paying for a song download, you can do that now. I have 13 songs up right now, on my personal site:

Now for the questions:

1) Anyone using Snocap?

2) Anyone have experience with OTHER services?

Snocap only pays out 60 cents to the artist, and I am wondering what other services may charge? I think you have to pay to sign up with iTunes, and I am not sure what they charge for listing your songs.

I'm gonna research all this, but if someone has already been through the various services, I would appreciate your insights and suggestions.

Thanks!

.

I had snocap and I stopped using them. I believe they hold back any check to you for 3 months; requires a minimum of $10 payout.
I never saw any activity in my account, after posting it for 2 months.
I don't know if anyone bought or not.
I had friends who used snocap, who had their friends tell them about buying their songs through snocap - and the activity never even showed in their account. They didn't mention the sale, and kept 100%. That's a bonifide rip-off; but hard to prove.
Once I heard that, I dropped them.
I still have an account with them, and I could post the snocap 'store' today, but I won't.
.
If you're a member of BMI, there's a store available through a 3rd party, who will pay you 100%. But their current site requires you to use a browser other than IE8.

Hey Craig, have you checked out Jango Airplay? I know you have to pay them to play your tunes, but they will be played alongside whatever famous artists you want, like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, etc. I have been conversing by e-mail with a new blues artist in Michigan who started on Jango a little over two weeks ago and he's got over 300 fans already. His full CD comes out in about two weeks, and I understand there's no way to predict if any of his fans through Jango will buy his new CD, but Jango gives you the opportunity to e-mail all these new fans a message of your where to buy your CD. The beauty of Jango is that the fans of your favorite artists, in your case Southern rock artists, will MOST DEFINITELY BE INTO WHAT YOU'RE DOING. That's what has me so intrigued about it. I believe they will play your song 1,000 times for about $30 on Southern Rock stations if you wish. Each member of Jango creates "stations" based on their favorite artists. For example, I'm a blues guy so I have a Junior Wells station, a Freddie King station, Muddy Waters station, etc. If I were to submit my songs to go on Jango I'd have them put it on a Muddy Waters station for example, or any other famous blues artist station for that matter. Like I say, it might be a gamble, but it could end up paying off in new fans and enough CD sales to make a profit. Your songs and especially your vocals are awesome and I don't see how you can miss on this one...
