Wanting can be a good thing. Some people are too satisfied with what they have. They don't want to do anything but sit on their fat arse and vegetate.

I want our band to spread the word of God, and the saving grace that is ours through Jesus Christ.
All else will be as it will be.
As far as me personally.
I want to be a stronger rhythm player.
I want to be a stronger lead player.
I want to write more songs.
I want a job that will both meet my financial needs and keep me available to gig with my band.
I want to get into the studio, I feel we have some stuff that will sell, and enable us to further our mission.

My goals
1. Be a performer.
2. Write original music for my first ever CD, one day.
3. Teach music
4. Have my music featured at a National Flute Association convention.
5. Perform in a Mamapalooza concert...Anyone here wanna join me?
6. Be 22 years old again...I can do it with music.
Overall I want a lot of my music to revolve around rock or R&B or jazz. Not that I don't love classical...I just want to see classically trained musicians develop the ability to get off the written page. I want them to walk a tight rope and promote something new without the fear of playing a "wrong" note.

Everything starts with a desire.
.
My overall framework, which my goals are draped over:
1) Enjoy playing the music
2) Get the music into as many ears as possible
3) Get paid well for playing
4) See number 1.
.
For any of us to obtain a goal, however, we need a definite, exact, specific goal - and a plan for obtaining it.
.
For example, number 3, above, "Get paid well for playing" is not a goal.
As written, is only a vague desire, or wish. There is nothing SPECIFIC to work towards . . .
.
So, ok - I want to get paid.
Next step is to examine that very closely.
HOW do I want to get paid?
- for performing locally? At festivals? Corporate Benefits? Casinos?
- for selling songs to MTV?
- for marketing songs online?
.
How often do I want to get paid?
- weekly
- monthly
- daily
- a 'residules payment' every quarter?
.
Until we have firmly decided all the details of exactly what we want, we're like a sailboat without a sail or rudder. Whichever way the tide turns, or whichever way the wind blows, that's where we head.
.
To say "I want plenty of money" - is only a vague wish: and nothing will come of it.
To say I want to clear $800/ week by performing once a week, selling individual songs on the internet, and collecting residuals," would be a definite goal.
.
Next a definite plan needs to be formed for each of the 3 listed sub-goals.
And a plan outlines all the steps to be taken, in the proper order.
A plan will list sources of information and possible help.
A plan will list possible obstacles and ways around them.
.
To recap:
1 Find your main desires
2 Think: decide specific goals.
3 Write down a plan of action with definite, specific steps to be taken. And check off these steps, one at a time, as you accomplish them.

I just wanna wail on my axe every freakin' day of the week and get tons of money doing it
...but, for now, I'm just super psyched on getting my newest project into the club circuit! We are practicing our asses off and have 2 sets of tunes perfected.... I figure in about a month, we're gonna shock the livin' sh¡t out of a buncha people in my neck of the woods! I haven't gigged in about month and haven't let anyone in on what my new band is coming out with! I did promise, however, one band that I'll play guitar for them for a big Halloween night bash!
