My wife and I quit 7 years ago cold turkey and I believe it was one of the best things we've done in 32 years together. I couldn't save a nickel and one of us was always sick. I had a lot of problems finding something new to do and for about 6 months I walked around feeling like I had lost something not able to think and act normal. Even now every now and then I find myself dreaming or wanting one. But I have to say I'm as proud of successfully quitting as anything else I have ever done. I promised my wife a trip to Jamaica if she would quit with me and it give us a reason to do it. Seems to me you really have to want to quit before you can. I got to that point after getting a bad case of bronchitis and knew if I didn't quit it was going to make a lot of problems for me. Good luck to all of you who are trying to kick a nasty habit.

And its another day in Paradise !!!

... haven't smoked since and my urge to have a smoke decreased twofold! Thanx for asking Paul... I'm on my way to being "vice free" I don't drink, drug or (now I can honestly say) smoke!

DIBBITZ!!!!

Okay, Crip - I really suck at the whole searching thing. I've been looking & looking at store sites for prices & stuff, but no one lists "e-cigarettes" in their product listings, & I can't even seem to find decent reviews on any independent sites. What brand did you buy? Does it taste like a cig? Are there hassles I don't know about? Would you recommend this to others & stuff?

Hey, Paul - thanks for bumping this. It's kept my interest long enough to try to find out more, anyway, & believe me, THAT's doing something! There's this belligerent lil imp in the back of my headbone actively working to keep me on the smokes...or maybe it's a monkey on my back...I gotta tell ya - I HATE being a junky!

I hated feeling like that Phil. I know you can do it. It's such a great gift you can give yourself. Lungs! I used dip to ween myself. I used smaller and smaller dips until they were just tic tac sized. Then it was all psychological. In my opinion it's really a similar process to the patch or the e-cigs. It was a LOT easier for me to control "doses" with dip than with a cig. I just found it really hard to just smoke half a cig or a couple puffs. You just want to finish it.

I'm rootin' for for my bros!!!!

I guess I'll hafta go to that damned mall, then. I've managed to avoid it for the last 3 years or so. I really hate a mall...

I really wanna try this thing, though.

Thanks again, Crip, for telling me about it. Glad to see it's working for you.

So I went to the mall. I was right. It's no fun to go to the mall with a 2 yr old. We walked all through it, though. (8 boarded up stores, & they say we're on an economic recovery. HAH!) No kiosks with e-cigs. Even the hippie shop didn't have them. That surprized me.

I'll try out at Smoker Friendly tomorrow, & the CVS o/l says they carry one brand of the things.

I think I'll try the sample kit to see if it's gonna be acceptable. 2 doses' worth is supposedly equal to 2 packs' worth, & costs the same.

DIBBITZ again!!!!

So I went to the Hagerstown mall today...nuffink! Target, Wally World, Kmart, CVS, other pharmacies - nuffink...wtf - I think I live in the 3rd world here! NOBODY's even HEARD of these things out here!

Gonna get the damned things o/l.

How's it going for ya, Crip? Still on the wagon?

Okay - another humbling experience - I missed your link, Crip...LOL..oops

Thanks again!
